The New England Patriots are currently traveling to New Jersey ahead of their game against the New York Jets on Thursday night, but ahead of both teams kicking off at MetLife Stadium, there have been some roster changes.
New England announced Wednesday that it has signed defensive end Jamree Kromah from the Chicago Bears’ practice squad and placed linebacker Oshane Ximines on injured reserve.
Kromah, 24, played collegiately at Rutgers (2018-21) and James Madison (2022-23). During his two years at James Madison, he played in 23 games, recording 81 tackles (26 for loss), 14.5 sacks, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. He signed with the Bears as an undrafted free agent this offseason and landed on the practice squad after roster cuts.
Ximines, 27, played at Old Dominion (2014-18), where he was twice named to the All-Conference USA first team. He was selected in the third round by the New York Giants in the 2019 NFL Draft. In his five seasons with New York, he played in 48 games, recording 71 tackles (including nine for loss), 24 quarterback hits, 6.5 sacks, six pass deflections, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.
New England signed Ximines this offseason, and he appeared in their first two games this season, recording one tackle before suffering a knee injury in Week 2. He will now have to miss the next four games.
