Portugal, who have already advanced to the next round as winners of Group F, face a desperate Georgia to finish the group stage of Euro 2024, while looking ahead to an imminent round of 16 match.

Cristiano Ronaldo is yet to score a goal, but has instead enjoyed a selfless start to the tournament, receiving praise (some of it somewhat surprising) for his first appearance for the team in two matches. Portugal will be hoping for wins against the Czech Republic and Turkey to confirm their place at the top of the group, regardless of what happens on the final day.

They will face a third-placed team in the knockout phase, but first they must face a match against Georgia, who are eager to prove they are worthy of a knockout place in their first appearance at the Euros.

A draw in the last game leaves them within one point, and striker Georges Mikautadze is among the tournament’s leading scorers with one in each of his two games so far.

Portugal vs. Georgia Prediction, Odds

  • Lean Money Line: Tie (+400)
  • Choose: Georgia double chance (+195)
  • Score prediction: Portugal 2-2 Georgia

Georgia has had an impressive performance in its first two matches and has been unlucky to come away with just one point. In their first defeat against Turkey, the Georgians lost two wonderful goals to them and held firm against the Czech Republic attack.

They will probably come under fire again here, but Portugal will be without Rafael Leao, and they have so far slightly exceeded their expected goals (xG) in this tournament, to the tune of five goals with 3.91 xG, meaning they could be in a regression.

Portugal have been exceptional in competitive matches since the 2022 World Cup ended, but they have been equally vulnerable in matches where the result makes no sense to them, including recent friendly losses to Slovenia and Croatia, as well as wins in which They conceded twice against Sweden and Finland. Georgia has a chance to make something happen here and become the underdog of this tournament in the round of 16.
