PSG are reportedly on the verge of signing former Everton winger Ademola Lookman to fill the void left by Kylian Mbappe’s departure to Real Madrid earlier this summer.
The surprise move has raised eyebrows, especially considering Lookman’s disappointing spell at Everton, where he failed to make a significant impact.
Ademola Lookman joined Everton in January 2017 with high hopes after impressing in the lower pisions of English football. However, his time at Goodison Park was marked by inconsistency and frustration.
Despite flashes of brilliance, Lookman struggled to secure a regular place in the starting XI and often found himself on the fringes of the team. His lack of goals and assists eventually led to him being loaned out to RB Leipzig, where he performed better but never lived up to the expectations Everton had when they signed him.

Lookman’s possible PSG signing: a risky gamble or a masterstroke?
Despite his struggles in the Premier League, Lookman has renewed his career at Atalanta BC, where he played a crucial role in their Europa League triumph last season. His performances in Italy have caught the attention of PSG, who are now looking to bring the 26-year-old to Paris.
PSG have reportedly reached a salary agreement with Lookman, making him one of the highest-paid Nigerian players in Europe.
However, the French champions are still weighing up their options and have yet to finalise a deal. Lookman, meanwhile, is keen to join PSG, despite Saudi Arabia’s Al-Ahli showing particular interest in him.
Lookman’s desire to leave Atalanta has not been welcomed by the Italian club. His absence from the Serie A opener against US Lecce, which they won 4-0, only fuelled speculation surrounding a possible move to PSG.
Atalanta’s board are reportedly unhappy with Lookman’s attitude and are not interested in selling him, especially as they value him at €60m, almost double what PSG are willing to pay.
As PSG continue to rebuild their attack following the departure of Mbappe, Lookman’s potential arrival could be seen as a risky gamble. While his time at Everton may have been disappointing, his recent form at Atalanta suggests he could still be a valuable addition to the PSG squad.
