Virtual Currency (VC) could be considered the lifeblood of NBA 2K25. VC is needed to purchase upgrades for MyPlayers, as well as to purchase animations and can be used to acquire packs for MyTeam.

The MyCareer path
In reality, you will have to work really hard in MyCareer to earn VC. At the end of each game, you will earn VC. However, the amount will depend on several factors. First of all, the better the performance, the more VC you will earn. But the difficulty is also a factor.
2K
The Rookie difficulty level will award 30% VC, while higher difficulty levels will increase the percentage earned. The highest difficulty level, Hall of Fame, awards a 160% increase. This applies to solo actions in MyCareer.
It should be noted, however, that players have reported nerfs to VC earned after matches, compared to 2K24.

Addenda and side quests are back for NBA 2K25My Career.
Let’s start with Endorsements. Endorsements are not available immediately. You will need to play a few matches and get into the starting rotation. Then, you will need to talk to Patrick a few times, once in the Arena and once in the MyCourt. Patrick will then reveal the available Endorsements to you.
2K
It’s important to choose realistic, goal-based shoe endorsement deals. New Balance, for example, will offer a VC bonus if a player makes the All-Rookie Team in their first year. It’s doable. Other deals, like winning an NBA title, might not work on a bad team.
Additionally, you’ll need to play well and earn fans to unlock additional sponsorship opportunities, such as with American Express, Hotels.com, and more.
Side quests, on the other hand, require players to travel around the city and complete certain objectives. These can range from wearing a new outfit to securing a promotion contract to winning Streetball. Once completed, you can earn VC, depending on the challenge.
2KTV
Everyone who plays MyCareer and MyTeam should watch the weekly episodes of 2KTV. Each episode features 2K Interactive questions, which in turn earn rewards if answered correctly.
It should be noted that not all questions award VC. In fact, the ones where any answer works usually include either a reduced VC bonus or 2 KTV clothing items for MyCareer. But traditionally, 200 VC is awarded for any correct multiple-choice answer.
MaNBA
Just like in NBA 2K24 and previous games, VC can also be obtained in MyNBA. Players who play Franchise Mode will be able to obtain virtual currency, but 2K players should be aware of a little trick.
2K
Those who choose to simulate a game with Simcast Live can earn VC simply by watching the computer play for a few minutes. The reward will only be a few hundred VC, depending on the length of the simulation, but doing this for an hour every now and then can earn you some cash.
It can be slow sometimes. So, make sure to set the Simcast simulation speed to x6, the fastest time possible, so you can move as quickly as possible. And press a button during the timeout to simulate during it.
Season Pass
NBA 2K25 players can also acquire VC through Season Passes, which are refreshed every six weeks. However, keep in mind that VC bonuses come at a cost.
2K has placed VC bonuses in the Premium Pass, which can only be acquired by purchasing either the Pro Pass ($9.99) or the Hall of Fame Pass ($19.99). The latter offers much more, including an additional 15,000 VC bonus on top of the Premium Pass reward. But it’s also not suited to free-to-play games.
