Commanders running back Austin Ekeler is being evaluated for a concussion suffered during Monday Night Football’s game against the Bengals.
Ekeler was starting to find his groove in the running game for Washington. He carried the ball three times for 35 yards and a touchdown on the ground, and added two receptions for 22 yards receiving through the air.
The 29-year-old injected some life into his team to open the second half, completing a 62-yard kick return to immediately put the Commanders in the red zone.

Austin Ekeler Injury Update
Ekeler was sidelined for the remainder of the Commanders’ Monday Night Football game against the Bengals with a concussion.

He started the second half with a bang, breaking up a 62-yard kick return to give the Commanders a possession in the red zone on the opening drive of the third quarter.

Ekeler took a short break on the sidelines after the big play, but returned to the backfield a few snaps later.
He gained three yards on a run up the middle but took a hit to the head on the way down. Ekeler went to the sideline immediately after the play and went to the locker room shortly after.
When the Commanders took the field after a Bengals touchdown, reporter Lisa Salters announced that Ekeler would not return to the game.
