Cristiano Ronaldo has set unparalleled records throughout his long and illustrious career, but as his playing days draw to a close, he hopes to usher in the next generation of goal-scoring superstars.
The Portugal international is hoping his son will be among that next group of star players, with 14-year-old Cristiano Ronaldo Jr. currently playing for Al Nassr’s youth team.
But while his father continues to enjoy his own incredible career, he is there to watch the elder Ronaldo dazzle for his Saudi Pro League club.
After being held scoreless in his last league game and then missing their first AFC Champions League match due to illness, Ronaldo Sr. was back on the scoresheet for Al Nassr as he scored a penalty against Al Ettifaq on Friday, September 20 to open the scoring in the match.
The goal is Ronaldo’s 902nd career goal, having reached the 900-goal mark a few weeks earlier. He has also scored eight goals in seven games this season, a year after setting the Saudi Pro League single-season goalscoring record with 35 in the 2023/24 campaign.

As he celebrated his final goal, Ronaldo found his son in the crowd and pointed before showing three fingers to his protégé. With Ronaldo Jr. having scored two goals for Al Nassr’s youth team earlier in the afternoon, his ‘three’ indicated their combined goals for the day.

And to keep the party family-friendly, Ronaldo’s girlfriend, Georgina Rodriguez posted a video clip on his Instagram story immediately after the goal of their two daughters dancing while a replay of the penalty was playing in the background.
