Tickets to go and see the Stranger Things Season 5 finale at the cinema are officially going on sale in the US and Canada today, but you’ll have to be quick if you want to secure your seat.

There was much talk about whether the last ever episode of the hit Netflix series would get a theatrical release, with the Duffer brothers and Netflix execs shutting down the idea earlier this year.

However, this idea has been turned Upside Down, as Netflix has since announced that cinema screenings of the final episode will be taking place at the same time as the streaming debut.

Previously, fans were left confused when it appeared you could buy tickets in the US via Regal Cinemas, as when they “secured” their seat, they were only able to buy a concessions voucher.

Typically, these are pre-paid coupons that can be redeemed at a movie theater’s concession stand for food and drinks. However, since the Stranger Things launch, it’s been revealed that these concession vouchers that will guarantee fans a seat at a screening.

You can see all of the options in your local area on the official site, or through ticketing aggregators such as Fandango and Atom Tickets, all of which have landing pages for the Stranger Things Season 5 finale.

The good news is that there are plenty of seats available with different showtimes. At certain Megaplex chains, for instance, you can watch the finale at 6pm or 9.30pm on December 31, or between 9.45am and 11pm on January 1.

Similarly, Regal is offering 5pm or 8.30pm screenings on New Year’s Eve, as well as a range of times between 8.40am and 11pm on New Year’s Day. So technically, you can still enjoy the Stranger Things Season 5 finale from the comfort of your own home, then go to experience it on the big screen after.
