The NBA Finals shifted back to Oklahoma City for a pivotal Game 5. As the series was tied at two games apiece, the Thunder moved within one win of an NBA title with an 11-point win over the Pacers.
As the teams have traded blows this series, OKC’s Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has displayed his MVP form, most recently turning in a dominant fourth-quarter takeover to help the Thunder pull off a furious comeback. He’ll look to build on that in front of his home crowd.
Gilgeous-Alexander entered the game averaging 32.8 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 3.8 assists. He did more of the same in Game 5, flexing his playmaking muscle in the process to help OKC earn a massive win.

Monday marked Gilgeous-Alexander’s 15th game of 30-plus points in the 2025 playoffs, making him the first player to turn in that many 30-point performances in a single postseason since Kobe Bryant.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Game 5 highlights vs. Pacers
It didn’t take long for the MVP to start cooking on offense, as he scored seven points and dished out three assists in the opening frame.
His transition crossover on Pascal Siakam got some oohs and ahhs from the crowd and set up a smooth left-handed finish.

Gilgeous-Alexander operates so well in the mid-range, it’s seemingly impossible to knock him off his game. Even when it appears as though the defense has him at a disadvantage, he finds a way to make a play.

In the second half and throughout the game, much of Gilgeous-Alexander’s work came in the halfcourt but more impressive than the scoring we’ve come to expect from him was his playmaking.
SGA finished with 10 assists, each seemingly coming at a crucial spot. He was much more decisive with the ball and bounced back in a major way after failing to record an assist in Friday’s Game 4 win.
