Philadelphia 76ers rookie Jared McCain is looking to soak up as much knowledge as possible before beginning his NBA journey.
McCain is a bit small for the shooting guard position, which means it’s important for him to focus on defense. The 19-year-old decided to reach out to former NBA All-Defensive First Team guard Patrick Beverley.
“I just wanted to reach out and ask for some advice about the NBA,” Beverley shared that McCain sent her. “I just want to learn as much as I can before I step on the court. I’m up for anything.”

Beverley, the 6-foot-11 point guard, continued reading a list of questions posed by McCain. It’s clear the former Duke Blue Devils player is dedicated to his craft, with headlines about his effort and personality popping up every week.
