Of Emily in Paris Season 1 Since its premiere in 2020, fans and stars alike have been rallying around Emily (Lily Collins) and Gabriel (Lucas Bravo), praying that one day the marketing guru and the sexy chef would find a way to be together. And in Season 4, Part 1, they finally did!
While Team Gabriel was excited by the opening romantic twist of Season 4, proud members of Team Alfie, like myself, were not only devastated, but worried about what Alfie’s breakup with Emily could mean for actor Lucien Laviscount’s time on the show. During a Zoom interview with Emily in Paris‘ Laviscount and Ashley Park, Jugo Mobile made sure to ask about Alfie’s future on the show. In doing so, we also got Park to bravely admit where his Emily in Paris Loyalties lie.
“When people say Team Alfie and Team Gabriel, it’s because they’re playing different sports,” Park, who has remained neutral on the topic in other recent interviews, proudly stated. “You heard it here first. They’re different sports. I think Gabriel, that whole thing is driven by, ‘Oh, we shouldn’t. ’ The passion of it. And then Alfie and Emily are so all about respect and kind of, ‘Let’s build this thing,’ and ‘What’s going on? ’ It’s what you’re ready for. They’re just playing different sports. It’s like swimming versus track and field.”
Both Emily in Paris The stars were so excited about their loyalty to Alfie that they high-fived each other after Park suggested, “They’re playing different sports,” before shouting to someone off-camera, “That’s so cool. We should wear that!” and telling Jugo Mobile, “We’ll remember this interview, because we found out something.”
As for Alfie’s future on the show, Laviscount assured us that we “definitely” haven’t seen the last of Alfie. “I think decisions are made in the heat of the moment, whatever that is. But I think for Alfie it’s the first time he’s really delved into what he really feels. It might be a little late in this case, but I think the respect he has for Emily and their friendship will blossom. And who knows what’s going to happen next, really?” he said. “Alfie is definitely not out of the woods. Watch out. Watch out.”

In a separate pre-release interview, Emily in ParisLily Collins herself also confirmed that Alfie will be back for season 4, part 2, saying: “We haven’t seen the last of Alfie. Look, Emily works with him too. He’s such an honest, wonderful human being and a great guy, and I think Emily really respects and values him. He’s an amazing addition to our show. And I think even if the relationship evolves, it doesn’t mean it’s completely over. So I’m excited for people to see how that’s handled, and I think it’s done really well and really respectfully.”
You can read more about what to expect from Alfie, Emily and Emily in Paris in full in our Season 4, Part 2 preview. Before Laviscount and Park wrapped up, however, they took a moment to tease the future of their characters.
“You’ll see parts of Mindy that you haven’t seen before,” Park said. And Laviscount shared that Alfie will “take over the road to recovery.”
