As of yet, we’re unsure whether the GTA 6 physical copy will include a printed copy of the Leonida state map, but given both Red Dead Redemption 2 and GTA 5 copies came with a map, we strongly believe Rockstar will include a physical map with their latest title as well.

Since Rockstar has already cleared it out to fans that the physical box will include a code rather than a disc, despite GTA 6 disc rumors releasing around Christmas 2026, we’re quite confident that the studio will not miss out on delivering fans an actual physical map of Vice City in the box.

On the other hand, while GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 also came with discs included, GTA 6 will be the first time Rockstar sells one of their flagship titles with just a printed code inside. Now, whether that code is printed on a miniature poster or on the actual GTA 6 map in a physical form is yet to be known.

To those unaware, the latest GTA game will bring multiple locations for players to roam around. Furthermore, players will have the option to switch between GTA 6’s dual protagonists, Jason and Lucia, between missions and heists. In late July, the movie became Netflix’s most-watched animated film — and as of August 26, 2025, it’s the most-watched flick on the platform in history at a staggering 236 million views.

With this achievement, it’s surpassed Red Notice, a 2021 action-comedy starring Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, Gal Gadot and Ryan Reynolds that garnered 230.9 million views in its first 13 weeks on the site and held the title of most-watched for three years until now.

HUNTER/X’s demon-slaying adventures also came to the silver screen on the weekend of August 23 – 24 in a limited-time sing-along run that raked in an estimated $18-20 million USD, as per the Hollywood Reporter.

While Netflix doesn’t reveal its official box office earnings to the public, analysts suggest that it likely beat out another big release that week in Weapons, which reportedly garnered $15.4 million that weekend.

Infinity Castle, the newest film in the hit anime series, has stormed into Japanese theaters with a 9.3/10 rating on IMDb and glowing early reactions from fans praising its animation, emotion, and scale. 

The film marks the start of the series’ climactic arc and is being hailed as one of Ufotable’s best productions to date. With the story picking up after the Hashira Training arc and launching the first of a trilogy that will close out the main saga, expectations were sky-high, and the box office numbers didn’t disappoint.

Demon Slayer Infinity Castle breaks records 

According to Crunchyroll, Infinity Castle earned ¥7.31 billion, about USD 49.55 million, in just four days, with over 5.16 million tickets sold. Its opening three-day total hit ¥5.52 billion ($37.42 million), setting a new record for the biggest opening weekend in Japanese box office history.

It’s already the second highest-grossing film in Japan for 2025, trailing only Detective Conan: The One-Eyed Flashback. Premium formats also boosted the total, with Deadline reporting $3.5 million came from IMAX screenings alone.

While Infinity Castle has shattered opening weekend records, it’s still far from catching Demon Slayer: Mugen Train’s lifetime total in Japan. Mugen Train remains Japan’s all-time highest-grossing anime film, with a total of ¥40.4 billion worldwide (about $507 million USD).

Infinity Castle premieres in Southeast Asia starting August 12, hits Latin America, Australia, and the Middle East on September 11, and lands in the US, UK, Canada, and India on September 12. European markets follow soon after, with France on September 17 and Germany on September 18.

There’s no place we’d rather be than on our surfboards out at sea. Lilo and Stitch has already grossed $361.2 million worldwide, with $183 million coming from the US. And that’s with only a few weeks under its belt…

Of course, the live-action adaptation has also come under fire. Not only has the new edition got rid of original villain Captain Gantu completely, but a quick search on any social platform highlights how some scenes have been seemingly changed for the worse.

Nevertheless, nothing keeps a blue guy down, and we can expect to see the Lilo and Stitch hype continue for some time to come. Even so, there’s one reason the new movie won’t top the highest-grossing charts of 2025.

Ne Zha 2 has Lilo and Stitch beat for 2025’s highest-grossing movie

Remember the Chinese animation movie that sprang up out of nowhere and became a viral global sensation? Well, Ne Zha 2 is still sitting pretty as the highest-grossing movie of 2025, with Lilo and Stitch currently in third place.

Currently, the global movie box office ranking looks something like this:

If you’ve not heard of Ne Zha 2 before, the movie follows its 2019 predecessor, with Ne Zha and Ao Bing sharing one body in the wake of a heavenly lightning strike that almost kills them both.

As the synopsis teases, “after the catastrophe, although the souls of Ne Zha and Ao Bing were saved, their bodies would soon be shattered. Taiyi Zhenren planned to use the seven-colored lotus to rebuild their bodies.”

While Ne Zha 2 is comfortably out in front, Lilo and Stitch is still a potential rival for A Minecraft Movie. Minecraft hasn’t completely left cinemas, but it occupies far fewer screens, which means fewer tickets.

Also, crucially, there is an overlap with audiences. While Minecraft has the advantage of a built-in, older fanbase, it’s still a family film, and Lilo and Stitch is the remake of a modern Disney classic beloved by audiences of all ages.

It’s reasonable to expect more weeks of box office domination from Lilo and Stitch, until the How to Train Your Dragon remake comes and shakes things up once more.

BLUE BOX: STREAM IT OR SKIP IT?

Opening Shot: Glimpses of a boy running in the early morning are interwoven with moments of someone shooting a basketball at a school gym. He arrives at the gym, only to be hit in the face with a basketball upon entry. The baller turns out to be a teen girl who immediately apologizes and offers him a KitKat, thus marking the first major interaction between our two potential lovebirds.

The Gist: Taiki Inomata (Shōya Chiba) is a student at Eimei Private High School, an integrated junior and senior high known as a sports powerhouse. He’s left junior high teams behind to start participating with the senior high’s badminton team. The team gets free practice in the mornings, leaving earlybird Taiki the gym’s only occupant aside from basketball player Chinatsu Kano (Reina Ueda), who always seems to beat him there and is already practicing with intensity.

Taiki has a major crush on Chinatsu, and he looks forward to early mornings spent working alongside her. Unfortunately, Taiki’s best friend and fellow badminton player Kyo Kasahara (Chiaki Kobayashi) reminds Taiki that his chances with Chinatsu are slim to none. Not only is she a year older, but she’s also the extremely popular rising star of the girl’s basketball team. And, well, Taiki is neither popular nor particularly athletically skilled. Besides their run-in earlier that morning, Taiki and Chinatsu’s only real point of contact is his mom, Yukiko Inomata (Ryōka Yuzuki) who’s an alum of the school’s basketball team.

Taiki, Kyo, and their friend, rhythmic gymnastics team member Hina Chono (Akari Kitō), all just became official high schoolers in the spring. Taiki and Hina may squabble like elementary schoolers sometimes, but he still turns to her for advice on how to make a girl happy (she immediately overwhelms him with unhelpful tips but it’s the thought that counts). In the end, Taiki doesn’t actually need anyone’s help, as the next morning he manages to talk to her when they’re both locked out of the gym and even learns that she somehow already knows his name! And… his mom?

It turns out that their moms were teammates and friends throughout high school basketball, and Taiki’s pleasantly surprised when his mom informs him of this new “point of contact.” Little does he know how true that ends up being when Chinatsu’s parents are transferred overseas, while she spends the next year in Japan with “an acquaintance”… who is, naturally, Taiki’s mom. Let the awkward high school romance, angst, and shenanigans begin!

What Shows Will It Remind You Of? Much like Blue Box, 2005 anime series Suzuka expertly melds sports and rom-com, following a young man from rural Japan who falls hard for his new next-door neighbor in Tokyo, a skilled high jumper named Suzuka Asahina.

Our Take: Even based on only the pilot episode, Blue Box definitely does not seem to be a cookie-cutter high school romance anime. With elements of sports and individual dreams that run deep to the show’s core, the show intertwines sports and life in a way that makes me eager to see more. It’s refreshing to see an anime featuring a girl’s basketball star while the boy is more of a fanboy (maybe even a simp) whose athletic achievements and social status pale in comparison. Taiki even manages to avoid coming across as a total stalker by being both non-threatening and self-aware enough to know when he’s done something cringey.

While Taiki may initially come off as a bit bland and Chinatsu-obsessed, the eventual revelation of the immense pressure he puts on himself and how much extra badminton practice he puts into the game adds depth and personality. We still don’t know a lot about Chinatsu beyond her utter devotion to basketball, but that in and of itself is compelling and something we’ll hopefully see development with over time. What we know now, though, is that their budding support of each other’s athletic pursuits is very sweet and something that will be interesting to develop in later episodes.

Visually, Blue Box is mostly beautiful, vibrant animation, interspersed with a few moments of subpar or awkward-looking CGI that still are minor enough not to bring down the show’s overall quality. As far as the tone of this first episode, the moments of schmaltz are balanced out by a genuine heart and warmth under the surface that shows promise for the future of Blue Box.

Sex and Skin: At one point, Chinatsu calls Taiki a masochist in response to his high-pressure perspective on badminton, but other than that little innocent teasing, Blue Box is as clean as can be.

Parting Shot: Taiki is shocked by the revelation that Chinatsu will be staying with their family starting in the spring. As Taiki’s mom, Chinatsu’s mom, and Chinatsu all stand smiling in Taiki’s kitchen, he looks absolutely flabbergasted as the screen zooms out from his face to the whole city while he yells “What the heck?”

Sleeper Star: She wasn’t in much of the episode but Akari Kitō’s Hina Chono definitely made an impact. With a big personality stuffed into a pint-sized rhythmic gymnast’s body and colorful character design, Hina is encapsulated by Kitō in a committed and entertaining way, even just through her voice.

Most Pilot-y Line: “If we were to compare you to schools, Chinatsu-senpai would be a seeded school, and you’d be the school that gets knocked out in the first round. You’re at completely different levels.” Wow, Kyo, way to put zero faith into your best bro!

Our Call: STREAM IT! Blue Box is a promising new series that seems worth investing in for fans of anime, sports, and romantic comedies. With its original take on the classic anime rom-com, we’re looking forward to seeing what else Blue Box has in store!

Blue Box is a new romance sports drama centering around Taiki Inomata and Chinatsu Kano. The story begins with Taiki rushing towards the school gym first thing in the morning to see his crush, Chinatsu.

Regardless of how early Taiki gets to the gym, he always sees her playing basketball. While Chinatsu is a rising basketball star, Taiki is an average badminton player with no popularity. Their relationship begins to change when Chinatsu moves into Taiki’s residence after the latter’s family moves abroad.

The first episode ends with Taiki being shocked to wake up and find Chinatsu at his place. However, now they’re living under the same roof, the two continue to train to reach their goals. Taiki sets his goal as high as Chinats in hopes of being a worthy match to match and aspires to participate in the nationals.

When is Blue Box Episode 2 out?

Blue Box Episode 2 will be released on October 10, 2024 at 12:00am PT.

The episodes will be released with subtitles as the streaming platform has yet to announce the dubbed release date. This version is usually released a couple of weeks after the original release date.
