The Cincinnati Bengals have some major work to do on the defensive side of the ball. And the safety room might need the most help this offseason.

With Geno Stone hitting free agency, the Bengals likely need to add multiple safeties to the roster this offseason. While the draft class is a good opportunity to land an impact player, free agency has some solid options as well.

PFF.com’s Mason Cameron is linking the Bengals to a free-agent safety from the Chicago Bears who led the NFL with 7 interceptions this past season. The Bengals were called the best landing spot for three-time All-Pro safety Kevin Byard III.

Bengals linked to Kevin Byard as best landing spot for All-Pro safety

With Al Golden’s defense with Notre Dame in 2024 being great in Cover-1 usage, there’s one thing the Bengals need to do. As Cameron writes, “If the Bengals hope to resemble that, it starts with the safety position.”

Byard is the clear best option, as he’s a center-fielder type of safety, and one who’s shown he’s capable of leading a defense from the secondary as a playmaking safety.

This past season for the Bears, Byard had an NFL-best seven interceptions. He was named to his third Pro Bowl roster and also earned his third first-team All-Pro.

More: Bengals urged to overhaul ‘horrific’ position group this offseason

In his NFL career, Byard has recorded 36 interceptions in his 10 years in the league, eight coming with the Tennessee Titans, two with the Bears, and 10 games with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2023.

The Bengals need safety help this offseason, and the best scheme fit is Byard, who would slot in perfectly at the back of Golden’s defense.

While he’s 33 years old and not a long-term solution to the position, with the Bengals trying to win a Super Bowl in Joe Burrow’s time with the team, adding Byard would give the young Bengals defense a veteran leader who’s more than capable of leading a unit.

Don’t get me wrong, I love Microsoft’s native Phone Link experience, but there’s no feature parity across different Android devices. For example, the app’s Phone Screen, the feature that lets you cast and interact with your Android apps on Windows, is exclusive to select Samsung, OnePlus, Oppo, and Asus phones. The same goes for Phone Link’s Instant Hotspot feature.

That’s why I’m always on the lookout for Phone Link alternatives on Windows that can provide a truly seamless experience between my Android phone and Windows 11 PC. I’ve tried the Intel Unison app in the past, but it lacks some of the essential features. In that regard, Motorola’s Smart Connect app caught my attention.

Although Smart Connect is exclusive to Motorola and Lenovo phones, sideloading the APK allows you to access almost all features of any android phone. I got it working with my OnePlus 7T, and it really impressed me with its seamless experience. Here are all the Smart Connect features that worked perfectly for me:

Smart Connect features compatible with any Android phone

1. Access the phone storage on your PC

With the Smart Connect app, you can access your Android phone’s internal storage directly on your PC. Just click on “Files” and a file explorer window opens with all Android directories and files. You can copy, paste and manage Android files and folders directly on your PC.

I transferred a 435MB video file from my Windows 11 PC to my Android phone, and it took just 11 seconds with a transfer speed of about 40 MB/swhich is great. And it all happens wirelessly, without any hassle. The transfer speeds are even faster than Microsoft’s Phone Link and Google’s Quick Share.

For fast and smooth file transfers between Android and Windows, this is a fantastic feature you will find in Smart Connect.

2. Sharing Center

Share Hub is my second favorite feature of the Smart Connect app. It lets you quickly transfer files and folders between your Android phone and PC. You can right-click on any file on your PC and choose “Add to Share Hub.” You can choose to drag the file to the Share Hub overlay, which appears at the top of the screen, if you choose to enable it. It sends the file to your phone in a snap. On your phone, you get a Share Hub overlay that you can tap and download immediately.

Similarly, on your Android phone, select a file and share it on “Share Hub” and the file becomes instantly available on your PC. I find this feature really cool because it eliminates the hassle of accepting a transfer request.

3. Smart Clipboard

While Smart Clipboard is offered by many such apps, Smart Connect’s experience is very smooth. You can copy a text or image on your Windows PC and it is copied to your smartphone’s clipboard.

Similarly, if you copy something on your Android phone, it is copied to your PC. The continuity that Smart Connect allows between my Android phone and my PC is truly unmatched.

4. Use your phone’s camera as a webcam on PC

With Smart Connect, you can also use your Android phone’s camera as a webcam on your PC. While Windows 11 does have an Android webcam feature, it’s pretty rudimentary at the moment. Smart Connect lets you apply the Studio light effect, choose between the front and rear cameras, and adjust the camera zoom as well. I tested the webcam feature on Google Meet and Zoom, and it worked right out of the box.

5. Phone on PC

Finally, we come to the “Phone to PC” feature which allows you to mirror your phone to your PC. This feature, unfortunately, did not work on my OnePlus device for some reason. I tried giving all sorts of permissions but it just failed to stream the apps from my phone.

I asked few of my friends to test this feature further with more OEMs but it didn’t work with Samsung and Oppo phones either.

That said, many users have reported that Phone on PC works on their phones other than Motorola and Lenovo. So feel free to try the feature on your Android device.

How to Install Smart Connect App on Any Android Phone and Windows PC

Follow our guide below to set up Smart Connect on your Android phone and Windows PC.

First, download the Smart Connect APK from APKMirror (visit) and install it on your Android phone.

Next, install the Smart Connect app on your Windows 11 PC from the Microsoft Store (visit).

Once installed, launch the app on your Android phone and grant all necessary permissions.

On your PC, click “Go to Dashboard” when prompted to sign in with a Lenovo account.

Now, tap on “Get Started” in the Smart Connect app on your Android phone and scan the QR code displayed on your PC.

Your phone will be instantly paired with your Windows PC. You can now start using all the features we highlighted above.

Here’s how to install the Smart Connect app and bridge the gap between your Android phone and Windows PC. I’ve been using Phone Link for a long time, but it seems like Moto’s Smart Connect app has given me plenty of reasons to switch. But what about you? Would you switch to Motorola’s Smart Connect app? Let us know in the comments below.

If you have been having Wi-Fi problems on your iPhone, don’t be alarmed because you are not the only one having connectivity problems. More and more iPhone users have reported that their device does not connect to a Wi-Fi network, while some users can connect but the bandwidth keeps decreasing all the time.

An overheating Wi-Fi chip can cause the problem, but there is a whole list of other suspects that could block your iPhone from connecting. Continue reading and we will give you some tips and tricks that could help you solve your problem.

The cause

A wide variety of factors cause Wi-Fi connection problems. Some are simple and easy to fix, like being too far from the router, having Airplane mode on, or having a weak signal. However, the problem may be caused by something else, such as a software bug or problems with the router or modem. Your iPhone’s antenna is also usually the reason, so you’ll have to narrow down the list of possible culprits before you can fix the problem.

Fix your Wi-Fi connection

Since there are many possible reasons why your iPhone won’t automatically connect to a Wi-Fi network, we’ll go over a list of possible solutions that could help you get things working again. Try the methods as listed until you find one that solves your problem.

Restart the Wi-Fi connection on your phone

Naturally, the first thing you should try is to restart your Wi-Fi connection.

Turn your Wi-Fi on and off in the Settings application or the slide-down menu. Be sure to wait a few seconds before turning it back on.

The connection issue could be caused by something as simple as a Wi-Fi IP conflict. Restarting the connection should fix it.

Disable Bluetooth

Sometimes your Bluetooth can be the reason why you can’t connect to a Wi-Fi network. The two functions may conflict with each other, which could prevent you from connecting to a Wi-Fi network. You should turn off Bluetooth and try to connect.

Use the settings in the slide down menu or the Settings app and deactivate it.

Check if airplane mode is activated

Many people forget that they turned on Airplane mode when they can’t connect to a Wi-Fi network. When Airplane mode is on, your device cannot connect to any network, including Wi-Fi. You could also activate the mode accidentally.

Turning off Airplane mode should fix the problem immediately.

just go to Settings and turn Airplane mode off, then try to connect to your Wi-Fi network.

Wi-Fi Assistance

The Wi-Fi Assist feature has been available since the iOS 9 update and is supposed to provide you with a stable internet connection automatically. However, if your Wi-Fi is too slow or if you have a bad signal, the problem may be caused by the Wi-Fi Assist feature because it will automatically switch to your cellular Internet in such cases. Try disabling the feature completely and your problem might be fixed.

Gonna Settingsand then Cell phone.

Scroll down until you see the Wi-Fi Assistance function and turn it off.

Restart your device

If none of the above helped you regain a stable Wi-Fi connection, try restarting your iPhone to see if that fixes the problem. Turn off your phone completely and then wait about 30 seconds before turning it on again. It’s a simple method but one that often gets the job done, even when you don’t expect it.

Restart your modem

If you’ve already tried restarting your iPhone and Wi-Fi connection, the problem could be on the other end of the connection. Restart your router and modem to see if that fixes the problem. You can unplug it completely or just turn it off for about 30 seconds before turning it back on.

Some users cannot connect to their home Wi-Fi, but have no problems trying to connect to any other network. If that’s the case, a simple restart of your internet connection should get everything working again.

Turn off location services

It seems that this method has helped many iPhone users. Turning off location services for WiFi seems to get things working in no time. This is what you have to do:

Gonna Settings and touch the Privacy eyelash.

Select Location services.

Tap System services.

Turn off Wi-Fi.

Forget about a saved Wi-Fi network

In some rare cases, if the methods listed above still don’t work, try forgetting the WiFi network saved in your phone settings and reconnect. Do it like this:

Open Settings on your iPhone and then select Wifi.

Tap on the information button.

Select Forget this network.

Connect to the same network again.

Reset network settings

At this point, you’re running out of options, so you only have a few more things to try. If you still can’t get a stable connection, you should try resetting the network settings on your iPhone. That means you will lose all your Wi-Fi networks and passwords, including cellular settings, as well as APN and VPN settings. However, it should fix things for good. This is what you have to do:

To get started, go to Settings on your iPhone.

Within Settings menu, touch General.

For iOS 14 and earlier, select Restart and then Reset network settings. For iOS 15 and later, select Transfer or reset > Reset > Reset network settings.

Enter your security password.

Tap Restart and confirm your choice.

Update your software

Software bugs can often cause all kinds of problems with many functions, including Wi-Fi connections. Make sure your iPhone is on the latest version of iOS and update all software you have installed. If that doesn’t fix the problem, the only thing you can try is to reset your phone to factory settings. Use that method only as a last resort if nothing else helps. Before doing so, remember to backup your data as it will be permanently gone once the process is complete.

Connect with the rest of the world

There are many different factors that can cause Wi-Fi connectivity issues on your iPhone and we did our best to provide you with all possible solutions. However, if the problem is frequent and you cannot determine what the cause is, you should take your phone to the nearest iPhone service store and see if they can fix it for you.

When it comes to streaming entertainment, it’s hard to beat the Fire Stick. Amazon’s class-leading streaming device has been around in some form for almost seven years and remains one of the best ways to add some apps to your TV.

Of course, being able to connect to your WiFi network is essential, and if you try to connect your Fire Stick to a 5GHz network, you might run into some problems. Wondering if it’s possible to connect your Fire Stick to a 5 GHz network? You have come to the right guide and we won’t even make you wait for the answer.

Can your Amazon Fire Stick connect to 5 GHz?

Yes, your Fire Stick can connect to 5GHz networks. In fact, all of Amazon’s Fire TV devices can connect to 5GHz networks, dating back to the original Fire TV streaming box released in April 2014. All of Amazon’s Fire Sticks support dual-band networks, meaning you can swap between 2.4 GHz and 5GHz networks as you see fit. It’s really that simple.

So whether or not you’re using the newest Fire Stick 4K, or you’re still using an OG model from 2014, you can rest assured that your network will work with your unit.

What is the difference between 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz wireless networks?

Some of you may not know the difference between a 2.4GHz and 5GHz wireless frequency. Here’s a quick explanation before we talk about how to connect your Fire Stick. The main differences between these frequencies are coverage and speed.

Furthermore, 5G is something totally different; is a mobile network technology (this article will be limited to 5 GHz to avoid confusion).

The 5GHz network has more bandwidth or speed, but less range or coverage. This higher frequency simply cannot pass through obstacles, which include solid objects like walls. Another advantage of the 5GHz network is that you experience less interference from other devices, simply because the 5GHz band has more channels (23) compared to the 2.4 GHz band (11).

How to separate your 5 GHz network from the 2.4 GHz network

You should start with this solution because it is the most common problem. Wi-Fi routers allow you to change the name of your Wi-Fi network to your liking. You need to go into the administrator settings and change the name of the 2.4 GHz network to something different than your 5 GHz Wi-Fi network.

The network name is a simplified term for what is actually called a service set identifier, also known as an SSID. You must separate these networks because the Fire Stick usually connects to the 2.4 GHz network by default.

The methods to change the SSID vary from router to router. Here is a general tutorial:

You must enter the IP address of your router in the address bar of your Internet browser (works in all browsers).

Then you need to enter the username and password. You can usually find the password on the back of your router.

Select the settings and look for the SSID or Wi-Fi name option. Enter a new name for the 5GHz network. Save your changes and exit the window.

Change the wifi channel

Changing the Wi-Fi channel on your 5GHz Wi-Fi is not as easy as changing the channel on your TV. However, it shouldn’t be a problem if you follow the instructions below. You already know that 5GHz networks have more channels than 2.4GHz networks.

In order for the Fire Stick to operate on the 5 GHz frequency, you must change the Wi-Fi channel to channels between 149 and 165, or to channels between 36 and 48. This may seem abstract, but it will become much clearer when you do it. I requested. the following steps:

Open the web browser of your choice (Chrome, Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, it doesn’t matter) on any device connected to your Wi-Fi network. You can do it from a tablet, smartphone or laptop.

Enter this address in the address bar http://192.168.1.1. In case this does not work, you need to go to the settings of your Fire Stick, choose Device, followed by Abou and finally Network. There you can find the IP address of the gateway to copy it to the address bar of your browser. Press enter.

You should now reach the administration window where you must enter the username and password (which you can usually find on your router). You can also call your Internet service provider to provide this information.

Next, click Wireless Settings (or any other version of Settings). On your 5GHz, the channel setting changes the channel to channel 36 and saves the change.

Wait until your device reconnects to the 5 GHz network. View the available connections on your Fire Stick. You should see the 5GHz SSID or Wi-Fi name and select it.

Fire Stick not connecting to 5 GHz network? Here are our solutions

Sometimes even when the 5GHz network is visible on your Fire Stick, it still doesn’t connect to it. There are several reasons why this problem may arise. First of all, try moving your 5GHz router closer to the Fire Stick. Restarting your router is also a great starting point.

Remember when we mentioned obstructions? Anything solid in the way can interfere with the connection. If there are no obstacles, a possible solution may be a quick restart of all your devices.

Also, make sure you are using the correct Wi-Fi password. This sounds silly, but many users experienced this issue due to password related issues. You can even reset your Wi-Fi network password from your browser’s management page, following the steps above to access the page.

Changing your network to an open network could also fix any problems. For a short period, completely remove your network password and see if that resolved the Fire Stick connectivity issues.

If none of that works, try changing the Wi-Fi channel to something other than 36. You can use any number from 36 to 48 until you connect to 5 GHz. Speaking of channels, make sure your Fire Stick remote is turned on. working properly by inserting new batteries (this will not work with low battery).

Finally, you can connect your Fire Stick to a completely different network, for example, your mobile hotspot. If nothing works, contact your ISP and let them know about your connection problems.

Established connection

That pretty much concludes this article on Fire Stick 5GHz networking. Now you know that this connection is available for every Fire Stick out there. If you are having some connection problems, you have many solutions at your disposal.

The Google Pixel 8a has many wonderful options that have been initially solely obtainable on the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Professional. Now the most recent Android 15 beta could have added one other one: help for USB-C show output.

This characteristic was noticed by a Reddit person. u/factsdude1 (by way of Android Police), and confirmed by Jugo Mobile on a Pixel 8a operating Android 15 beta 2. Whereas it isn’t talked about anyplace within the Android 15 beta 2 launch notes and never explicitly confirmed by Google, this characteristic is out there.

</picture>

The method of organising that exterior show was additionally extremely simple. I merely needed to plug in a USB-C cable that was plugged into my desktop monitor and the choice to reflect my display screen instantly appeared on the backside of my display screen. There was additionally no want to enter the USB preferences menu and configure issues.

The one factor I additionally seen is that dismissing the Display screen Mirroring immediate meant there was no apparent strategy to arrange the connection after the actual fact. Which suggests it’s a must to unplug the cable and plug it again in. Nonetheless, every little thing appeared to work precisely as anticipated, with minimal lag or output points.

</picture>

The power to hook up with exterior screens by way of USB-C has been lacking from Pixel telephones for a number of years, a lot to the frustration of Pixel homeowners. Nevertheless, this was made obtainable on the Pixel 8 sequence final 12 months utilizing the identical display screen mirroring characteristic. It is attainable, then, that Google is happy in regards to the thought of with the ability to use an Android telephone on a bigger display screen.

What makes this information extra attention-grabbing is that Google reportedly had a personal demo with a Pixel desktop mode earlier this week. The demo is alleged to have featured a Pixel 8 operating a model of ChromiumOS, the open supply model of ChromeOS, on an exterior monitor. The timing means that Google may be excited in regards to the thought of producing screens, though there have been no official bulletins of this nature.

Then again, there have not been many bulletins associated to Android 15 this week, despite the fact that the Google I/O developer convention was happening. As a substitute, the keynote centered on Gemini and AI, whereas the Android 15 bulletins have been relegated to press releases that clearly weren’t absolutely consultant of every little thing Android 15 and its second beta needed to supply.

So in case you have a Pixel 8a or plan to get one within the coming weeks, it is essential to know that display screen mirroring is out there. So long as you join the Android 15 beta and comply with undergo the implications of that call, good or dangerous. Or, alternatively, you may await the ultimate launch, which ought to be launched any time between late summer time and early fall.

Steam is easily the most popular gaming app on the planet. Few things are more affecting than the “could not connect to the Steam network” error when you have a couple of hours of free time. Steam has the unpleasant policy of requiring an Internet connection for users to play.

Therefore, unless you have some offline single-player games on your computer, you will need to connect to the Steam server network to play your favorite titles. Check out some of the solutions you can try when you encounter this problem.

Check server status

One of the most common reasons why the “could not connect to the Steam network” error may appear is a server issue. Before reviewing a list of possible solutions, determine if the problem is over.

Check the Steam Status website and see if everything is working fine. If you see server interruptions, there may not be a problem with your connection. However, if the Steam server health is great, you can start implementing some fixes.

Restart the connection

The network connection error may appear after an incomplete or incompatible update. It may also appear when reconnecting to the Internet after a modem problem or power outage. But sometimes, you may have to force your machine to reconnect to the Steam network manually.

Start Steam.

Select the “Go online” option.

Go to “Connect to the Internet.”

Select “Restart Steam.”

Alternatively, you may want to start Steam in “Offline Mode.” This will allow you to load the interface and change the connection or network settings before connecting.

Restart PC or mobile device

It may seem like an old move from the days of Windows 98/XP blue screen errors, but restarting your PC or mobile device can fix many problems, including connection errors. It’s no different than launching Steam or any other app.

Restart your device, let your apps and background services load, and then try signing in to your Steam account again. It can fix a frozen app or some driver issues that cause the “could not connect to the Steam network” error.

Check your background apps

Steam has a complicated app with many strange policies and incompatibilities with third-party software. You may be surprised to know that it won’t always work with anti-malware and anti-virus software running in the background.

Of course, this should not happen when using reputable software. But it’s not always known what incompatibilities new updates and drivers may cause.

Therefore, you may want to disable some background apps before logging into your Steam account. Below are some types of apps you can disable:

VPN

Firewall

antivirus

anti-malware

Antispyware

Point to point applications

torrent apps

Naturally, you can try different applications. But if Steam won’t load due to a firewall or antivirus, you need to find software that won’t interfere with your favorite gaming service. It’s not worth using Steam at the expense of your online security.

Update the client

Steam usually downloads and installs updates automatically. The app should also notify users to restart the client after installing a new update. But sometimes, you may miss an update or something may go wrong during it, causing connection problems.

In that case, you can perform a manual update.

Start Steam.

Click the “Steam” button on the toolbar.

Select the “Check for Steam client updates” option.

Install the update if the app finds one.

Restart Steam to see if the same connection error appears.

Switch between Ethernet and wireless

If your Internet connection is slow, you may not be able to connect to the Steam server network with a wireless connection. It can happen even if you can browse the Internet and access websites or launch other online applications.

Try using your Ethernet connection instead. If you are having problems using an Ethernet connection, your cable or motherboard could be experiencing problems. Instead, sign in to Steam using your Wi-Fi.

Run it in administrator mode

Just because you are using a login account with full privileges does not mean that all of your applications will run without problems. Sometimes you still need to launch applications like a computer manager. And it’s much easier than you think.

Right click on the Steam shortcut.

Select “Run as administrator.”

Confirm by clicking “OK”.

If this doesn’t fix the network error, there are more solutions you can try.

Update network driver

Unlike GPU drivers, network drivers are not always updated automatically. Some people may use the same version of the network driver that they installed along with their operating system. Therefore, it doesn’t hurt to check if your driver is up to date.

Type “msinfo32” into the Windows search bar and press “Enter.”

Scroll down the right pane of the window until you see the “BaseBoard Product” line.

Search for the motherboard model online.

Go to the manufacturer’s website and download the latest network driver.

Install the driver and restart your computer.

Try logging into your Steam account again.

Change the protocol

The Steam launcher uses a UDP protocol to connect to the Steam network. But protocol issues can also cause the connection failure error. To fix this problem, simply change the protocol.

Right click on the Steam launcher icon.

Go to “Properties”.

Locate the “Destination” field.

Go to the end of the path and type “-tcp”.

Apply the new settings and restart the application.

Although a TCP connection may cause delays, it should resolve protocol-induced connection errors.

Reset your IP

Many variables can cause the “could not connect to the Steam network” error, including IP-related issues. Renewing the IP address could help you reconnect to the network and enjoy your favorite games.

Fortunately, you can do it quickly by typing a few commands in the command prompt.

Type “Command Prompt” in the Windows search bar.

Right click on the application and run it with administrator privileges.

Type the command “ipconfig /flushdns” and press “Enter.”

Enter the command “ipconfig /registerdns” after flushing DNS.

Type the command “ipconfig /renew” and press “Enter.”

Although resetting the IP is a complex process, users can do it with three simple commands and a little patience. However, it is essential to use the three commands in the order indicated. You will clean the system of old IP addresses that could affect your connections.

Check port availability

The steam has a port list you need to use to access your network of servers. It is worth checking the status of the ports when you cannot connect using the desktop launcher.

The command will list all open ports used by applications and services on your machine. Look for fields that include the Steam app. You want to see the “LISTEN” label under the “Status” column. A port without that label could close and interfere with your connection.

Reset the TCP/IP stack

Another common solution for many connection failures or limited connection problems is to reset the TCP/IP stack. You can do this from the command prompt. Follow the steps below to get started.

Reinstall the app

Reinstalling Steam may seem like a hassle. But when all else fails, this might be the only remaining solution. The biggest drawback is that reinstalling the app will remove all games. For some users, that could mean hundreds of gigabytes requiring downloading, lost screenshots, etc.

For this reason, many people prefer a common workaround. They copy the “Steamapps” folder to a new location and then delete the app. After a new installation, the “Steamapps” folder can be copied to the new one to access all games immediately.

However, games can also have corrupted files, which could cause you to be unable to connect. Therefore, the sensible solution is to perform a clean reinstall by deleting all game files, cookies, save files, and all other Steam related data. It is the only way to ensure that the application itself is not responsible for the connection error.

Don’t forget to take a break from games

No one likes to see “could not connect to the Steam network” when they feel like playing a game. But that doesn’t mean you should forget to rest your eyes from time to time. Experiment with other sources of entertainment and play responsibly.

That said, this Steam connectivity error can have many solutions. It all comes down to isolating the root cause. Most users do it through trial and error. But slow internet speed, bad updates, and incompatible background apps are usually the main reasons why you can’t connect to Steam.

With this in mind, what solutions typically work for you? Please let us know how often this error appears and what you use to fix it. Feel free to share additional tips in the comments section below.

AirPods are the most popular wireless headphones in the world. Even more so since the launch of the AirPods Pro, which introduced ear cushions, noise cancellation, and other interesting additional features. The problem with most Apple products is that they don’t “vibrate” with non-Apple devices. Apple relies on using its patented technology for everything.

That said, AirPods can connect to other non-Apple devices. So, if you’re a Chromebook user, you can rest assured that you’ll be able to use AirPods on your non-Apple phone. The same goes for PC, Kindle Fire, Android, etc. Here’s a little more about AirPod connectivity.

Don’t they use some special Apple technology?

Well, no. AirPods are wireless Bluetooth headphones that use, well, the standard Bluetooth connection that can pair with any Bluetooth-enabled device. That means you can connect AirPods to Android phones, Windows phones, PCs, TVs, consoles, and, as seen above, Chromebooks.

Of course, the connection may not be as smooth and you may experience some small problems in the process, but everything should work fine. Additionally, when paired with non-Apple devices, AirPods may lack some advanced controls and features.

What about the W1?

Since the iPhone 7, Apple phones use a special chip called “W1.” It is a wireless chip from Apple that is only available in iPhone. Apple also decided to remove the typical 3.5mm headphone jack from the iPhone 7. This is why many have thought that AirPods will only work on Apple devices.

However, this is not the purpose of the W1 chip. iPhones do not use this chip to communicate with the devices. It’s just a feature that makes connections work more smoothly. That’s why pairing AirPods is faster and easier with iPhones. It also provides better battery life.

As mentioned, AirPods use Bluetooth to connect with other devices. But iPhones offer much better connectivity options, even with non-Apple products. Typically, wireless headphones and earphones must enter pairing mode to connect to a device. It’s not too complicated, but it can be a little complicated. Sometimes the connection fails, forcing you to restart your phone or headphones, etc.

AirPods work differently. Thanks to the W1 chip, they can connect to a compatible iPhone within range as soon as you open the case. The W1 chip eliminates all the annoying and inefficient elements of Bluetooth connectivity. The buttons work best with iPhones.

Connecting your AirPods to your Chromebook

Chromebooks are Chrome OS laptops that don’t have too many features. As such, they are a perfect example of the extensive connectivity that AirPods have.

To connect AirPods to your Chromebook, click the network icon, located in the lower right corner of the screen.

The Chromebook will then show the connectivity options, check if Bluetooth is checked In. Click the arrow below Bluetoothif Bluetooth is checked Offswitch it on.

As soon as you turn on Bluetooth on your Chromebook, it will start searching for nearby active wireless devices.

Your AirPods should appear as one of the options. If this doesn’t happen, pick up your AirPod case and click the Setting button, it is the small button on its back.

You should see AirPods in the list now, click on the AirPods entry and that’s it.

Disconnect AirPods from a Chromebook

As simple as connecting AirPods to a Chromebook, let’s now see how to disconnect them.

Open the Bluetooth menu on your Chromebook and turn it off.

Alternatively, you can press and hold the button Pair Button on the back of the case.

Yes, it’s that easy when everything works correctly.

AirPods and non-Apple devices

There are other benefits you get from using AirPods with Apple devices. Features like iCloud pairing, tap for Siri and other smart features. However, the AirPods will work like any other pair of Bluetooth headphones with non-Apple devices. You’ll still enjoy AirPod sound quality, noise cancellation, and other sound-based benefits.

You need internet access to get the most out of all your devices, including your Hisense TV. You may want to modify your Smart TV settings or improve account security. Regardless of the reason, you should connect the TV to your wireless network.

This article will show you how to connect your Hisense TV to Wi-Fi. You’ll also discover how to troubleshoot if your device fails to establish a link to your network.

How to connect to Wi-Fi on a Hisense TV

Connecting a Hisense TV to a Wi-Fi network shouldn’t present much of a challenge. The process is relatively simple and only takes a few minutes:

How to connect a Hisense TV to a wired network

If you don’t have a Wi-Fi network or it’s not working, don’t call your technician yet. There is another way to connect the device to the Internet and it involves using the Ethernet cable. Most Hisense TVs have a built-in port for this cable to make things easier.

Here’s what you’ll need to do to establish a wired network connection:

Look for an Ethernet cable compatible with the port on your Hisense TV.

Connect one end of your cable to the Internet router and connect the other to the TV. Make sure both ends are connected correctly. You should hear a click when connecting the item, indicating a successful link.

Use your remote control to access Hisense TV settings.

Explore the window and find the “Network” section.

Access the “Network Settings” screen.

Enable LAN and follow the on-screen instructions to link your Hisense TV to your Ethernet network.

My Hisense TV does not connect to the Internet; Potential solutions

You may have tried both methods mentioned above, but your Hisense TV still cannot connect to the Internet. Several culprits can cause this, but there are several ways to solve the problem:

Restart the device

The best solution is usually the simplest. Restarting your device may be the solution:

Press the “Menu” button on the remote control.

Select the “Support” option and confirm your choice by pressing “Enter.” Depending on your model, the “Enter” key may also appear as “Select” or “OK.”

Go to “Self Diagnosis” and press the “Enter” button.

Select “Reset.” It should be the last option on the list.

Enter your PIN to confirm your decision and reset your TV to factory settings. Wait for your device to reboot and try the steps above to connect to the Internet.

Power cycle

Turning your router and Hisense TV on and off should be your next option. It helps ensure there are no issues with the device’s power flow and gives both devices a fresh start.

First let’s see how you can turn your Hisense TV on and off:

Turn off the TV with your remote control.

Unplug the power cord from its outlet.

Wait a couple of minutes and reconnect the cable.

Turn on the tv.

The router’s power cycle should also be smooth:

Turn off the router by pressing the power button. It should be located on the back of your device.

Disconnect the ethernet and power cable.

Wait a few minutes.

Plug the cables back in and turn on the router.

See if you can now connect your Hisense TV to the Internet.

Check Wi-Fi password

If your TV doesn’t connect to your network after you restart it and turn it on, you may be using the wrong Wi-Fi password. A single number or letter can be incorrect, rendering all troubleshooting useless.

You can check your Wi-Fi network with your computer. Here’s what PC users should do:

Connect your computer to your Wi-Fi network.

Launch your browser, type “What is my IP” in the search field and press the “Enter” button.

Click on the first result.

Copy the IP address and paste it into the search field.

Press “Enter” and you should arrive at your Wi-Fi network provider’s website.

Enter the login credentials. The username and password should be “admin” by default.

Locate your Wi-Fi settings and find your password. You can now change your password and connect the TV once again. Alternatively, locate your Wi-Fi channels and switch to another if the current option is overloaded.

Clear your network cache

Overloaded network caches can interfere with your Hisense TV and prevent it from connecting to your Wi-Fi network. Solving the difficulty should be easy.

Follow the steps below to clear your network cache:

Use the remote control to access the Menu.

Go to “Settings,” followed by “General” and “Network.”

Choose “Network Status” and press “Reset Network.”

Wait a few minutes for the process to complete and check if your Wi-Fi connection is working now.

Uninstall your VPN

As for your VPN, disabling this network may not be enough as it can still cause problems with your Wi-Fi connection. The only solution might be to uninstall the program. You can do it on your Windows PC:

Go to “Settings” and select “Applications.”

Choose your VPN and click on it.

Press the “Uninstall” button and confirm your decision by clicking on the pop-up window.

After uninstalling the app, you may also want to remove the VPN connection:

Go to “Settings,” followed by “Network and Internet.”

Select “Change adapter.”

Right click on the VPN connection and press the “Delete” button.

While you’re there, you should remove old TAP drivers as they may remain on the network even after you uninstall the VPN:

Open the “Control Panel” and access the “Device Manager”.

Relocate the router

If the TV still can’t connect to your Wi-Fi, move the router closer to the device and try again. Although both 2.4GHz and 5GHz connections can pass through multiple walls, make sure the router is in the same room as your Hisense TV. Otherwise, you may experience frequent connection drops and interruptions.

Smart TV Internet adventures are within your reach

Your Hisense TV may be packed with exciting channels, but you can take the fun to new heights by connecting it to the Internet. Expand your viewing repertoire with the most popular streaming platforms, allowing you to enjoy countless hours of movie and TV content. Even if you’re having trouble establishing a link, a few simple adjustments to your hardware and software will help you get over the hump.
