Between the spectacle of the event and the presence of some celebrities, regardless of how the fights went, UFC accomplished its goal of putting together a premier show on President Donald Trump’s birthday. But all seven bouts on the card also lived up to the hype, including a massive upset in the Ilia Topuria vs. Justin Gaethje main event.

Making some UFC history, every fight on the Freedom 250 card also ended in a knockout or technical knockout.

How many UFC cards have had all knockouts?

It should be noted that UFC Freedom 250 was a smaller card than most UFC events, with just seven fights. But it still made promotion history.

For the first time, every fight on a UFC card ended in a knockout. And that came on the White House lawn, an event that has been meticulously planned for nearly a year as one of the most unique sports events ever put together.

While there hasn’t been a 100% rate of knockouts before, there have been two known previous instances of a card having a 100% rate of finishes. At UFC Fight Knight 55 in 2014, all 11 fights resulted in stoppages via either knockouts, technical knockouts or submission, and the same could be said of all 10 fights at UFC Vegas 59 in 2022.

The third fight of the night saw Mauricio Ruffy send Michael Chandler into the cage after a right hand, and once Chandler fell, he was hit with a knockout punch to decide the bout.

In a heavyweight fight, Josh Hokit took on Derrick Lewis — and with Lewis looking sluggish, Hokit took advantage.

Once Hokit found himself with a chance to strike, he connected on a few huge uppercuts to send his opponent to the ground, yet another technical knockout.

The action at the White House continued with Sean O’Malley vs. Aiemann Zahabi, and by round two, it was over.

In the co-main event, Ciryl Gane and Alex Pereira met for the interim heavyweight title.

Ilia Topuria (c) vs. Justin Gaethje

The highlight of the night came in the main event, with Topuria and Gaethje competing for the undisputed UFC lightweight title — and because Topuria’s corner decided to not continue the fight, it went down as yet another TKO in a huge upset.

Gaethje and Topuria went a full four rounds, but physically, Topuria took a beating. By the end of the third round, he had a swollen nose and eyes, was visibly struggling to see in front of him and had plenty of blood on his face. Despite a doctor appearing to say Topuria couldn’t continue fighting, his corner convinced officials to continue the fight.

Gaethje did enough in Round 4 to tire Topuria even more, however, and when the champion went back to his stool, the fight was over.

As the festive period comes right before the turn of the calendar year, many fans see Christmas Day as the perceived halfway point of the season, even if it technically is not quite at that point. In the 2025-26 season, teams will have played 17 matches when Christmas Day arrives, just one matchday before the official midway point.

So how well does the holiday table indicate who will win the Premier League title? Turns out, with half the season to go, it’s right about where you’d expect.

How often do Premier League leaders at Christmas win the title?

Teams to have won the Premier League title while leading on Christmas Day have gone on to win the title 51.5% of the time, topping the table at the end of the season in 17 of the 33 seasons.

Across the entire history of top flight football in English history, the leader on Christmas has won the title 44.4% of the time, happening on 56 of the 126 all-time seasons.

The lowest a team top of the table on Christmas has ever finished is sixth, where Aston Villa fell to in the 1998/99 season. Aside from that, no team has ever finished below fourth after being top of the table December 25.

The team with the best record while leading on Christmas is Chelsea, who have led on five separate occasions, lifting the trophy on all five occasions. The club with the worst record while leading on Christmas is Liverpool, having topped the table on the holiday but failing to secure the title on five different occasions, the most of any English team.

The team to win the title the most after not topping the table on Christmas is Manchester United, who have done so on eight different occasions, but they have also been pipped for the title after leading on Christmas twice themselves. Man City have also come back to win the title five times, all coming in the five most recent times for it to happen.

For the 2025-26 season, Arsenal sit at the top of the table, holding a narrow two-point advantage over second-placed Man City with 39 points through 17 matches.

While the overall league record for Christmas Day leaders winning the title is right on half, Arsenal have a woeful record in this regard.

Even worse, if you expand the club’s history beyond just the Premier League and include their entire top flight history, it gets even worse, having failed to win a single league title on seven occasions of being top of the league on Christmas. All three times Arsenal won the Premier League title, they were not top of the table on Christmas, with Manchester United top on two of those occasions, plus Newcastle once. In fact, Arsenal is the only Premier League team to win the title without being top of the table on Christmas at all.

However, there is hope. Teams to have a two-point lead on Christmas, which feels like a slim margin, have gone on to win the title on five of seven occasions. The only teams to fall short were Leeds in 1999/00 and Arsenal in 2002/03.

Yet, there’s also reason to worry. Each of the last five times the Christmas leader has failed to win the title, Man City have been the ones to lift the trophy. Sure enough, if Arsenal look over their shoulders right now, there are Man City lurking once again.

Rockstar’s games have historically released with a 30 FPS target on consoles. Take GTA 4, for example, which suffered from dips into the 20s on the PS3 and Xbox 360. The tradition continued with GTA 5, which persisted with the 30 FPS target on the PS4 and Xbox One, despite technically being an older-generation title.

The same goes for Red Dead Redemption 2, and even the ‘Pro’ variants of both console platforms didn’t receive a 60 FPS patch for Rockstar’s western epic.

The historical context, paired with the PS5’s recent performance woes, is reason enough for most fans to expect another 30 FPS console port in GTA 6. However, a new leak suggests that Rockstar is aiming to hit that glorious 60 FPS mark on the PS5 Pro, thanks to a bit of assistance from the console developer, PlayStation.

As revealed by @DetectiveSeeds on X, “GTA 6 has been, and continues to hit 60fps while being optimized for the PS5 Pro on multiple graphical settings.”

“PS engineers are assisting with the optimization due to the new tech being implemented and rolled out with a current target date of May 2026,” he added. The “new tech” is reportedly an upgraded version of PlayStation’s proprietary upscaling technology called PSSR, which is only available on PS5 Pro machines. The leaker also claimed that GTA 6 will feature multiple graphical options on the PS5 Pro, a luxury enabled by a potential marketing deal between PlayStation and Rockstar.

It’s worth noting that the marketing deal isn’t officially confirmed, and the details surrounding it emerged from the same leaker. So, it appears that Detective Seeds is sticking to his guns on this front.

Interestingly enough, they also mentioned that PlayStation is assisting Rockstar on other games that are releasing before GTA 6. This claim appears to fuel the rumors of a PS5 patch for Red Dead Redemption 2, which could finally upgrade the game’s visuals and frame rates.

If not for his team’s struggles, Williams could find himself bumping shoulders with Bo Nix, Jayden Daniels and Brock Bowers as an Offensive Rookie of the Year candidate.

Still, one aspect of Williams’ game has grown increasingly worrisome: his inability to avoid sacks. Williams is on pace to shatter Chicago’s single-season sack record. Moreover, he could find himself in rarefied air among sack specialists at his position if things ramp up in the coming few weeks.

With that, here’s what you need to know about Williams’ sack totals thus far this year, including how they compare to David Carr’s record mark from 2002.

Caleb Williams sacks

Williams has accrued his fair share of sacks in his maiden season, crashing to the turf a league-leading 56 times through 13 games this year. He finds himself on pace to join an unenviable list of hurlers to be collected for 60 sacks in a single season. And assuming his pace of 4.31 sacks per game holds, he could find himself perilously close to Carr’s single-season record.

There are a number of reasons why Williams has been dealt so many sacking woes. His offensive line is far from world-class, surrendering the 12th-highest pressure rate at 35.6 percent, per Sharp Football Analysis. Chicago is posting a league-average pass block win rate — an ESPN-crafted metric that assesses how often an offensive lineman sustains his block for 2.5 seconds or longer. All that amounts to a fairly underwhelming offensive line, especially when compared to divisional foes Minnesota, Detroit and Green Bay.

Williams isn’t faultless in the matter, though. Among QBs to throw at least 113 passes this year, Williams has the 15th-highest average time to throw at 2.86 seconds, according to Next Gen Stats. That’s level with Patrick Mahomes and higher than Jared Goff (2.79) and Josh Allen (2.80), by comparison.

It seems Williams has a tendency to take a sack due to holding the ball too long. In some ways, that’s to be expected — Williams was renowned for his improvisational skills in college. Sometimes, those theatrics are going to result in untimely sacks.

Nevertheless, it’s clear he’ll have to improve on this trait if he has any chance of reaching the potential so many across the league envision for him. Williams has been dumped behind the line of scrimmage at least three times in 11 games this season, an unsavory figure. He was swept in a typhoon of sorts against the Niners, careening into the Levi Stadium terrain on seven different occasions in Week 14.

With matches against the Vikings, Lions and Seahawks looming — all with postseason implications attached to them — it could get worse before it gets better.

Still, there’s room for hope. Williams still finds himself off Carr’s record-setting pace. He’s the man of the present and the future for Chicago, meaning he’ll have ample opportunity to drop back in the Bears’ pocket. As long as he can avoid the pitfalls that befell him against Houston (seven sacks), New England (nine sacks) and San Francisco, he should be able to skirt clear of Carr’s ignominious mark… barely.

Most times sacked in a season

The NFL’s single-season record for being sacked belongs to David Carr. The former No. 1 overall pick by the Texans was sacked 76 times during his rookie season in 2002.

That marked the first time in Carr’s career that he would lead the NFL in sacks taken, but it wouldn’t be the last. Carr was sacked a league-high 49 times in 2004 and 68 times in 2005. The amount of hits he took helped to derail his NFL career.

Below is a look at the NFL players who have been sacked 60-plus times in a season during their respective careers.

Sam Howell was the most recent player to crack the list of men to be sacked at least 60 times in a single campaign, doing so in 2023 with the Commanders. Williams will likely join him in 2024, taking the mantle as the ninth separate player to reach the milestone overall — both Carr and Randall Cunningham did it twice.

There’s worse company to be in than the likes of Cunningham and Jon Kitna. Still, Williams will want to steer clear of the list if he can help it.

At present, Williams is on pace to be sacked 73 times this season. That would put him six sacks below Carr’s 2002 total.

Although it’s been a nightmarish season for Williams in terms of sack prevention, it is worth noting that his projected figure is over a 17-game season. Carr’s record total came in 16 games. Thus, even if Williams were to surpass Carr’s mark, he may not be sacked quite as often as Carr did at the same stage of his career.

It’s also notable that Carr attempted a mere 444 pass attempts during 2002. Conversely, Williams is already at 434 attempts and is projected to finish the season with about 567.

So although Williams might finish the season with sack totals rivaling Carr’s, his sacks per dropback will be much lower overall.

Razer has just announced a new Razer Viper V3 Pro Gaming Mouse, which he calls the “pinnacle of esports engineering.” The biggest selling point is the true wireless 8000Hz polling rate, making it one of the fastest performing wireless gaming mice on the market.

According to Jeffrey Chau, Razer’s Global Director of Esports, “The Viper V3 Pro was born from the valuable insights of Team Razer’s elite esports professionals. With its revolutionary shape, lightweight construction, and our most advanced technology to date , is designed to provide the best precision and speed, allowing players to improve themselves and reach their full potential.”

To achieve the 8000Hz wireless polling rate, you need a separate dongle that is located near the mouse. Fortunately, this is included in the box of the Razer Viper V3 Pro, so you don’t need to buy anything additional.

Another big selling point is the weight, as Razer managed to lose 4 grams from the previous generation’s weight, bringing it down to 54 grams. That a battery-powered wireless mouse is so lightweight is nothing short of impressive.
