Getting the perfect tube for your explorations in Abyss is crucial, as it decides how long you stay in the waters. It is because tubes control your oxygen level, the speed of movement, the maximum depth, and how many fishes you can keep at once. So, upgrading your tube at the right time is the key to unlocking new regions faster and accelerating your overall in-game progression. So, check this guide for the best Abyss tube progression path so that you don’t waste money on unnecessary upgrades.

Update: We updated our tube progression after the official release.

Best Abyss Tube Progression

As you hop into Abyss for the first time, you’re given a basic Wooden Tube for free with minimal stats that won’t get you far. Consider catching fishes around the starter area, complete the beginner Kraken and other NPC quests to save up some money, and purchase better tubes and guns. You can also check our Abyss guns progression guide if you’re feeling lost.

Most of the early game tubes can be purchased from David’s tube shop inside the safety dome. So, grab the Abyss codes and grab them as soon as possible. Whereas, you can find better options once you start exploring the Ancient Sands and the Spirit Roots. That being said, here is a quick breakdown of the best tube progression in Abyss:

Wooden Tube (Default) ➡️ Normal Tube ➡️ Pufferfish Tube ➡️ Boat Tube ➡️ Rukiry Tube ➡️ Oxy Tube ➡️ Lost Spirit Tube ➡️ Ruined Tube

Abyss Tube Progression Explained

Before you dive deeper into the explanation, make sure that you have a good idea of what the stats of a tube mean in the game. The oxygen bar is displayed at the bottom left corner of the screen, and it differs with each tube. This explains how long you can stay out of the safety dome. You can increase these stats using some of the Abyss races, but the tubes boost them further.

The max depth stat is shown in meters. So, once you step out in the ocean, do keep a note of the number written on top that denotes depth. The max depth stat explains how deep you can go without losing oxygen rapidly. Weight explains the maximum weight of fishes you can carry at once, while speed is the basic movement speed of travel around the ocean.

Early in the game, make sure you focus on your tube’s oxygen stat and that it has enough to survive while catching fishes. Get a better understanding of the game, learn about potions and oxygen pods, and then you can focus on tubes with a higher weight stat.

You can always increase the oxygen, weight, and speed of your tube using a combination of Abyss artifacts and potions, and oxygen pods. That said, here is a full tube progression guide from early to late game.

Best Early Game Tubes in Abyss

Wooden Tube (Default): This is the default tube, which you get after starting the game.

Normal Tube: The wooden tube has extremely low stats, and so, you will require this tube for catching more fishes and saving enough for the next best tube.

Pufferfish Tube: Do skip the fire tube because you will be forced to buy this in order to complete the Kraken quest, and stat-wise, it’s better as well.

Best Mid Game Tubes in Abyss

Boat Tube: The Pufferfish tube can take you to all the regions; however, you will need oxygen pods. And, to survive the depths of Ancient Sands and fish here, you’ll require this Boat tube.

Rukiry Tube: Consider skipping the Zepline tube and going for the Rukiry tube as it can help you survive the depths of Spirit Roots and even help completing upto 10 Diver quests.

Oxy Tube: After heading off to the Spirit Roots, the Rukiry tube won’t have enough max depth to reach the other quest NPCs. The Oxy tube comes in handy at this time, helping you collect fishes and complete quests in this region.

Best Late Game Tubes in Abyss

Lost Spirit Tube: Having bought the Oxy tube, the Plane tube becomes the least useful, and upgrading to the Lost Spirit tube becomes the next best choice. This acts as a bridge to get the final endgame tubes in the game.

Ruined Tube: Finally, there are two options: either the Ruined tube or the Bath tube. Personally, I feel the Ruined tube has better oxygen stats and can be more useful than the Bath tube in most cases.

That completes the best guide to the Abyss tubes progression guide. Check out our complete Abyss tubes list for more options in the game. So, which tube do you own currently? Do let us know in the comments below.

Which tube should I focus on early in Abyss?

Do focus on getting the Pufferfish tube first, as it can get you to most of the places with the right amount of oxygen pods.

What is the best end-game tube in Abyss?

The Lost Spirit tube and then the Ruined tube or the Bath tube are the best end-game options in Abyss.

In Abyss, surviving the deep sea largely depends on the tube you’re using to explore the regions. The tubes act as a primary movement and breathing gear in the game. Moreover, they decide how deep you can dive, how long you can stay out of the safe dome, and the amount of fish you can bring back. As you progress in the game, upgrading the tube becomes essential, and therefore, we have made this guide to list out all the Abyss tubes and from where you can get them.

How to Obtain Tubes in Abyss

Most of the tubes in the early stage of Abyss can be purchased from David’s Tube shop inside the safe dome. These are as important as knowing the gun progression in Abyss.

While the advanced tubes are sold in the deeper regions of the Abyss. Some of them can also be found by completing various NPC quests, such as the Diver NPC found in the Forgotten Deep area.

So, if you’re looking to make an exploration out of the safe dome, you might require a short oxygen boost, found for free by redeeming the latest Abyss codes.

All Tubes in Abyss and Stats

There are four tubes that you get at the starting point in Abyss. Once you get the best one from there, head to the other regions to upgrade your tube. Below is a complete list of all the Abyss tubes, along with their price, location to buy them, and the tube stats such as oxygen, mas depth, weight, and speed.

That is all about the tubes you can find in Abyss. So, which is the best tube you have in your inventory till now? Tell us in the comments below.

What happens if the tube oxygen runs out in Abyss?

Once the oxygen meter hits zero while exploring in Abyss, you will die, losing 25% of your inventory and money.

Does carrying too much fish affect movement in Abyss?

Yes, the more load or fish you carry, the slower your movement gets. And, you cannot carry more fish than the specified tube load.
