Karl-Anthony Towns is at the center of New York Knicks trade rumors lately.

As the Knicks have been known to be interested in a Giannis Antetokounmpo blockbuster, it’s clear that Towns could find himself packaged in a deal that would help the Knicks land the former MVP.

It’s hard for players to distract themselves from the hypothetical trade talks that we all see. And no matter what is being said behind the scenes, there are too many sides to every story. Towns might not know what to believe. According to Newsday’s Steve Popper, that’s creating an emotional toll on the veteran big man.

“If you saw Towns after Wednesday night’s game — or really, if you’ve seen him at all this season — you know that hearing his name in trade talks has come at a cost,” Popper reported this week. “Feelings are hurt. Egos are bruised. And maybe trust is gone.”

The Knicks’ vibes meter has been low since the start of 2026. For a stretch, they looked like one of the worst teams in basketball. While they have a four-game winning streak going heading into their Friday night matchup against the Portland Trail Blazers, they still have a week’s worth of time until the trade deadline.

The Knicks Are in a Tough Spot

Months ago, Giannis reportedly only preferred the Knicks. They were in a great spot since the Milwaukee Bucks are going to be willing to work with their most prominent star of the decade, sending him to where he wants to go.

Since it’s been revealed that Antetokounmpo no longer views his trade situation as Knicks-or-bust, New York isn’t the favorite to land him. In fact, several teams are probably ahead of them in the race for Giannis’s services.

Heading into the weekend, the Knicks’ chances of landing Giannis are slim. Therefore, holding onto Karl-Anthony Towns beyond the deadline is highly likely. If the reports are true, the Knicks have some serious damage control to do, as Towns will be key to their upcoming playoff run.

Can the Knicks Win it all Without Giannis?

The East is still wide open. Giannis is a phenomenal talent who would make the Knicks interesting. Does he automatically make them the favorite? Well, it would depend on how much the Knicks would have to give up beyond Towns.

The only thing stopping the Knicks from being better right now is their chemistry. When it’s all clicking, they are clearly a top team in the league. The NBA Cup title might not mean much at the end of the day, but they proved they could win in a tournament. The playoffs are another tournament with higher stakes. Fix feelings and get it together—the Knicks will be a threat in the East come spring. If all stays the same—it’ll be an interesting summer on the KAT front.

Dying is a regular occurrence in Rogue Waters. During the tutorial, players are told not to worry if they die, because they’ll wake up back at their ship with all their crew and spoils intact. That said, it can get a bit tedious to continuously die in the early game, so here’s a guide on what to do if you keep dying in Rogue Waters.

Although dying is a part of Rogue Waters, there are things you can do to mitigate the damage to your crew during sea and ship battles. A full raid will include several battles of both types, and you’ll be lucky if you find a point on your route that will heal any of your crew’s wounds. If you do find one of these stops, you can usually only heal one random wound from your crew.

Because of this, it’s up to you to keep your crew healthy throughout a raid. There are various ways to add additional HP to your crew members, including items that can heal them during ship battles, and ship modules that add to your crew’s Max HP.

Below, you’ll find several sections that cover the various ways you can avoid dying in Rogue Waters. These include classes that have skills which add HP to a character, modules you can find/buy/plunder from ships that add to your crew’s Max HP, and items that need to be equipped to your specialists to heal them.

How to avoid dying in Rogue Waters

Screenshot by Jugo Mobile

Be aware that this guide is geared towards new and struggling players, so it won’t cover modules and items that you will see later on in the game after you’ve spent a fair amount of hours raiding. These are modules and items that you will come across during your raids, so staying alive will feel more achievable.

Classes with health skills

Screenshot by Jugo Mobile

Plenty of classes have at least one skill that you can unlock for extra health. Here is a list of classes that have such skills. This is not an exhaustive list, but it does include a large number of classes that you’ll see quite often in the Tavern.

Modules that add HP to your crew

You will have access to some modules before setting out on your journey and you can choose which ones go with you by going to the Shipyard. Other modules can be won from ships during sea battles or purchased from various ports during your journey.
Items can be purchased at some ports during your raiding journey, though some can be won from plundering ships. They must be equipped to one of your crew mates to be used. Some will require manual activation – which you can do during that unit’s turn in a ship battle. Here are some of the more common items you’ll come across that can add HP to your crew:

10 Tips to keep you alive in Rogue Waters

Screenshot by Jugo Mobile

Even if you’re dying, keep raiding. It doesn’t matter if you don’t finish a raid, you’ll still keep your experience points, Glass, and Blueprints.

Have a full replacement crew available at all times. Instead of starting a new raid with specialist crew members that have wounds, switch them out with other specialists waiting in the Galley.

Let your crew heal. Similar to the point above, always let your crew heal where possible. This is harder in the early game when you don’t have enough money to hire more specialists.

Always raid with a full crew. There’s no benefit to raiding with fewer people. You’re almost always going to be outnumbered by the enemy, so take as many crew members on your raid as you can.

Avoid fighting with less than two cannons that can attack other cannons. During a sea battle, your enemy’s cannons are going to do all of the harm to your cannons, modules, and crew members. If you only have one cannon that can attack other cannons, you’re going to take a beating.

Get more Command Points. These allow you to fire more cannons during sea battles.

Have at least one dedicated healer in your crew. Though Captain Cutter has healing abilities, you may not want to use your captain as a combat medic at first; especially because there are specialists that are in the Combat Medic class. You can find a table in my Rogue Waters Crew guide that highlights specialists with healing skills, which you may be able to hire from the Tavern before a raid.

Use the ropes. Ropes can help your crew members get across the deck of a ship faster. If you have specialists with certain skills that do more damage, you can send these characters to fight by themselves. I’d recommend sending specialists who can use guns, have melee skills, or have unlocked skills that do more damage. They’re more likely to outlive an enemy than new specialists with no unlocked skills.

Grapple enemies into fire. Grapple class specialists are handy if you’re on a ship that has patches of fire burning. Use their wrestling skills to throw enemies into fire. Even if your Grapple specialist can’t do damage themselves, they can use their environment to cause it, instead.

Have specialists work together. It’s best to pair off certain specialists to work together. Take the Grapple class and the Spearmaiden class, for example. Grapplers need to unlock various skills to do damage while throwing enemies around, and Spearmaidens can hit up to two enemies in a well-positioned attack. Use your Grappler to get the enemies in position, and attack with your Spearmaiden.

When it comes to surviving the high seas in Rogue Waters, your ship’s setup is key to victory. Having the right combination of modules and cannons can make all the difference in both sea and ship battles. In this guide, you’ll find some of the best modules to keep your crew alive, as well as the cannons that will tear through your enemy’s ship.

Best Modules for your ship in Rogue Waters

Equipping your ship with modules that boost your crew’s health and movement is one of the best strategies in Rogue Waters, especially during tougher battles. Extra health points give your crew more survivability, allowing them to take more hits while staying in the fight longer. This is crucial when facing larger enemy crews that can overwhelm you with numbers. With a crew that has higher HP, you have more time to execute your strategies and can afford a few mistakes without losing your specialists early on.

Screenshot by Jugo Mobile

But it’s not just about defense – being able to move more squares during combat also gives you a huge advantage. Increased mobility lets your crew move further during the start of a ship battle, which could position them right next to your enemies and give you a shot at taking them out faster. In a game where positioning is everything, the ability to move freely makes your crew far more dangerous on the battlefield.

I won’t only be focusing on HP and Movement modules, though. In the table below, you’ll find an abundance of modules for your ship that I have used and benefitted from in my own game. These can protect your crew, power up certain specialists, and more.

Best cannons for your ship in Rogue Waters

Screenshot by Jugo Mobile

When it comes to sea battles in Rogue Waters, choosing the right cannons for your ship can make or break your chances of victory. Avoid cannons with a damage range that starts at zero. While they might seem tempting for their higher potential damage, they’re far more likely to misfire than land a hit. Misfires don’t hurt your ship, but they waste valuable Command Points, which could be better spent on more reliable cannons. Always aim for cannons with a damage range that starts at one. Even if the damage is lower, knowing you’ll consistently deal some damage is far more useful than gambling on cannons that often do nothing.

Another fun aspect of the game is plundering cannons from enemy ships after you defeat them. You can see which cannon you’ll get by hovering over a raid map target before heading into battle, so it’s worth planning ahead if you’re in need of new firepower. Cannons can also be bought at certain ports, giving you even more options to customize your loadout. To equip more cannons at the start of a raid, you’ll need to unlock the relevant upgrades in your Workshop.

Tips for using your cannons during sea battles

Screenshot by Jugo Mobile

Cannons can only be used during sea battles – this is when you and your enemy are still on your ships and you spend three turns firing cannons at each other. Cannons can be used to damage other cannons, your enemy’s modules, and even kill their crew members before you board their ship.

Struggling to do any meaningful damage during sea battles? Try these tips:

Prioritize targeting dangerous cannons. Always target enemy cannons that look like they can deal significant damage to your crew. Taking these out early can prevent devastating hits later on.

Carry at least two cannons that target cannons. Make sure to have at least two cannons in your arsenal that can specifically target other cannons. This will give you the edge in dismantling enemy firepower before they can hit you hard.

Fill the rest of your slots with module and crew cannons. After ensuring you have a couple of cannon-targeting cannons, focus the rest of your loadout on cannons that target enemy ship modules and crew (or modules, crew, and cannons!).

Use specialized cannons for maximum impact. While the best cannons can target everything-cannons, modules, and crew-many of the more powerful cannons tend to specialize in one area. For example, Shipwrecker III can only target modules, so know what each cannon does best.

Destroy enemy HP-boosting modules. Keep an eye out for enemy ship modules that give extra HP to their crew. Take these out as soon as possible to make the rest of the fight easier.

Target bombers and gun users on the enemy crew. Focus on eliminating bombers and gun-wielding crew members before your team has to face them in boarding combat. Removing them early will make your crew’s hand-to-hand battles much smoother.

Keep your Command Points in mind. Don’t waste Command Points on cannons that frequently misfire, especially those with a range starting at zero. It’s better to spend your points on reliable shots that are guaranteed to deal at least some damage.

New fans of Kevin Costner’s recent epic western Horizon They’ll have to wait a few additional, unspecified months to see the next installment, which was recently pushed back from its August release date in favor of a later release, supposedly to allow the first film to find an audience via streaming. Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 2 It seems (still) uncertain whether the series will go straight to the streaming platform after its Venice premiere. There have been some rumours about Netflix’s interest, as the streaming service has reportedly set its sights on its own take on the western series starring Costner. Yellowstone for some time.

Is Netflix testing those waters by bringing back the 2015 western? Bone axe At your service? It’s hard to say, but anyone who is a fan of Horizon Those who haven’t seen it… well, actually, have a good chance of being repelled by S. Craig Zahler’s half-minimalist, half-maximalist film. At the same time, it shares some basic DNA elements with HorizonThe film’s approach to the western and adventure genres. Both films begin with a series of seemingly unconnected characters, although many of them remain separate in the first chapter. Horizon As the story draws to a close, Zahler’s film finally brings them together. At the beginning, we see a pair of scruffy, oddballs (human vultures, more like) murdering and pillaging their way through a small desert camp. We also meet loving married couple Arthur (Patrick Wilson) and Samantha (Lili Simmons); a small-town sheriff, Franklin Hurt (Kurt Russell) and his deputy (Richard Jenkins); a bartender (Fred Melamed); and self-proclaimed intellectual John Brooder (Matthew Fox).

From there, however, the film just sort of drops characters rather than keeps introducing them. In a nighttime attack, possibly prompted by the presence of one of the drifters from earlier, Samantha is kidnapped, so Arthur (already injured thanks to an accident at the farm), Franklin, the sheriff’s deputy, and Brooder set out to rescue her. Not everyone dies on this journey (some don’t even come), but the reduced cast is still reminiscent of horror movies, as is the gruesome violence and the antagonists who are like an Old West version of the mutants from The Hills Have Eyes.

Photography: Everett Collection

Technically, they are part of a Native tribe, which probably explains why early in the film, Zahler introduces a friendly Native to disavow this group, which he refers to as the Troglodytes, who engage in cannibalism and incest. HorizonNative characters are used to kick off some truly gruesome and horrifying violence, and Zahler is even more ambiguous (or is he downright cagey?) about what we’re supposed to take away from this. Is he turning the Natives into monsters as a way to further caricature, even satirize, how these characters have been portrayed in so many previous Westerns? Or is he just making excuses to continue portraying them as subhuman? It’s similar to his crime thriller Dragged by the concretewhere the film seemed both aware of the racism of its characters and suspiciously eager to revel in it as entertainment.

Also as Concrete, Bone axe Zahler muddies his own waters by giving his most racist characters some of his most eloquent, witty, and writerly dialogue. Though Zahler loves to wade into unpleasant proceedings (including, for example, a rather lengthy scene in which Arthur writhes and curses in pain as his worsening leg wound heals), his dialogue scenes never feel like his most indulgent moments, given the obvious pleasure he takes in uncovering his characters’ personalities through what they muse about in conversation. That’s particularly true of Richard Jenkins’ character, whose mild-mannered stupidity becomes oddly endearing even as it irritates those around him.

Despite its horror movie crudeness, then, Bone axe offers much of fleeting pleasure Horizon The film offers real narrative closure and a somewhat tighter running time (it’s the shortest of Zahler’s films, clocking in at just 130 minutes). The extreme, objective violence may turn off some old-school Western fans, and there’s no promise of more vast landscapes in the future. Indeed, it’s not just the cast that shrinks as it progresses; while there is some panoramic landscape cinematography, at the end of the film the characters confront each other in a dark cave. Western audiences and horror audiences are understandably considered to be quite far apart on the spectrum of movie-watching, but there are filmmakers who seem to have an affinity for both, perhaps because they both inevitably traffic in violence and the unknown (Ti West, the film’s director). X trilogy, he also made a little-seen and pretty good western called In a valley of violence.) Bone axefor resembling Horizon Although it does something completely different, it suggests that border horrors are a natural adaptation.
