Following their devastating 126-102 defeat at the hands of the Oklahoma City Thunder on Tuesday night, the Golden State Warriors and 4-time NBA champion Stephen Curry are in need of a bounce-back outing.
Heading into the second night of a back-to-back against early MVP candidate Victor Wembanyama and the rising San Antonio Spurs, Curry’s availability for the contest was previously in question due to a lingering illness.
Fortunately for the Warriors, new updates from ESPN’s Anthony Slater have indicated that Curry, along with 2017 Defensive Player of the Year Draymond Green and 6-time All-Star Jimmy Butler, will all be assisting the team with getting back on track against a formidable opponent.
“Steph Curry, Draymond Green and Jimmy Butler are cleared for the back-to-back tonight in San Antonio,” Slater shared via X/Twitter on Wednesday afternoon.
“None of them listed on the injury report. Jonathan Kuminga is questionable with knee tendonitis.”
Though the potential absence of Golden State’s breakout forward Jonathan Kuminga could severely impact their chances of taking the bout, Curry, Green and Butler all appear to be ready for battle.
Prior to the Warriors’ blowout loss against the Thunder and 2025 MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander on Tuesday, the aging trio had all dealt with their fair share of injuries and ailments.
Now, it looks as though Golden State will have all of their veteran superstars on the floor against the Western Conference’s No. 2 seeded Spurs (8-2).
For Curry, specifically, he’ll look to improve upon his horrid performance against the Thunder’s sensational defense on Tuesday night, as he contributed just 11 points on 13 attempts from the field in 20 minutes of burn.
In nine appearances this season, the two-time MVP has averaged 25.0 points, 3.8 assists and 1.4 steals on a 60.7% true shooting percentage to kick off his 17th year in the association.
