3. San Antonio Spurs
The Spurs have an absurd amount of first-round picks stockpiled — has anyone been able to keep track of the number? It’s well above 10 between now and 2031, which makes San Antonio a pretty juicy trading partner in a Fox deal.
Let’s say the Spurs were willing to include three of those first-rounders (more than the Los Angeles Lakers and Miami Heat can feasibly include) attached to a package of Chris Paul, Keldon Johnson, and Jeremy Sochan.
This package begins to enter the realm of one that the Kings might legitimately take some time to sit down and consider.
Getting CP3 would be like putting a quality band-aid on Sacramento’s pressing leadership issues. The veteran Paul would be able to come in and right the ship from a team direction standpoint, something that is badly needed right now for the Kings.
And while the combo of Johnson and Sochan is probably a less valuable package than the trio of youngsters the Miami Heat can offer, it’s the first-rounders that might really make Sacramento think about pulling the trigger on this deal.
Fox would be a perfect fit in San Antonio, setting up the Spurs with a young, star trio comprised of Fox, Victor Wembanyama, and Stephon Castle.
Unfortunately for the Spurs, they’d likely be outbid by a couple of teams in a theoretical sweepstakes for Fox, starting with the Golden State Warriors.
