Perks are a crucial part of the create-a-class system and custom loadout creation in Call of Duty games, and Black Ops 6 is no exception. There are a variety of perks to choose from, but some stand out above the rest and will be used by the majority of players in their meta loadouts.

Best Perks to Use in the Black Ops 6 Beta

If you’re familiar with older Call of Duty titles, you might know that a loadout always had three perk slots, each with a unique set of skills to choose from. The same goes for Black Ops 6, which brings back the traditional perk system with a few tweaks. Below, you’ll find my recommendation for the best perks for each slot.

Best Perk 1 in Black Ops 6 Beta

  1. Bulletproof vest (unlocked at level 8)
    • A classic perk that reduces the damage you take from explosives and fire. Body Armor can help you withstand deadly equipment like Frag Grenades and Semtex by greatly absorbing their effect. Additionally, you can even survive encounters with rockets if an enemy fires an RPG round at you, unless it’s a direct hit.
  2. Tac Mask (unlocked at level 24)
    • This perk grants you resistance to certain enemy tactical gear like stun grenades and concussions, as well as the neurogas field upgrade. While the trophy system is a good tool for fending off enemy projectiles, it is only available for a limited time, making the tactical mask important.
  3. Ghost (unlocked at level 12)
    • With Ghost equipped, you will not appear on the enemy’s minimap when they have a drone active. This only works when you are moving, planting, defusing, or controlling Scorestreaks; so don’t stand still. You are also undetectable by the proximity alarm with this perk.
  4. Scavenger (unlocked at level 21)
    • Scavenger allows you to resupply ammo and equipment from eliminated enemies. If you have this perk selected, it is not necessary to run the Assault Pack Field Upgrade.

I didn’t mention Ninja in the list of best perks because footsteps aren’t overly loud in Black Ops 6, as they should be in any CoD multiplayer mode. You can hear enemies when they’re close, but not from several meters away. It’s nice to have the option to choose Ninja, but you’ll be better off using other useful perks.

Best Perk 2 in Black Ops 6 Beta

  1. Gung-Ho (unlocked at level 5)
    • Gung-Ho reduces movement barriers when reloading your weapon or using equipment. Additionally, you can reload while in a tactical sprint, meaning you don’t have to stop running just to change magazines.
  2. Dexterity (unlocked at level 14)
    • With Dexterity, your weapon remains more stable and doesn’t move as much when you jump, slide, and dive. This greatly improves the weapon’s stability, thus your accuracy, and allows you to make the most of Black Ops 6’s omni-movement mechanics. You also take less fall damage, so you can jump from higher surfaces without taking as much damage.
  3. Transfer Intel (unlocked at level 26)
    • Being able to read and use minimap data is crucial to playing tactically, and Forward Intel helps you do just that. With this perk equipped, the minimap area is magnified and you can see the direction revealed enemies are facing.
  4. Fast hands (unlocked at level 22)
    • Fast Hands allows you to switch weapons faster and extends the firing time when returning a frag grenade thrown by an enemy.

Best Perk 3 in Black Ops 6 Beta

  1. Steward (pre-unlocked)
    • The Quartermaster perk recharges your tactical and lethal gear over time. This means you can use multiple pieces of gear in a single life without having to restock them using an Assault Pack or Scavenger.
  2. Vigilance (unlocked at level 6)
    • When you spawn on enemy minimaps, an indicator will appear on your HUD to let you know that you have been spotted. You will also be immune to CUAVs, jammers, and enemies using the Sleeper Agent field upgrade.
  3. Finance (unlocked at level 15)
    • The bankroll gives you a score of 150 at the start of each life, so you have to work a little less to earn the Scorestreaks.

I also wanted to mention Double Time here because it increases the duration of the tactical sprint. However, in Black Ops 6, I noticed that there isn’t much difference in speed between a sprint and a tactical sprint. This reduces the usefulness of the Double Time perk.

Every year, developers make small but noticeable changes to the perk system. In Black Ops 6, we have the Combat Specialty and a returning feature called Wildcards. Here’s how they work and the best options you can use to create the perfect multiplayer loadout.

Best Combat Specialties in the Black Ops 6 Beta

In the perk selection menu, you may have noticed that the options are marked with a specific color. This is the Combat Specialty feature and there are three types available:

  • Executor (Red):Defeat enemies to gain a temporary boost to movement speed and HP regeneration.
  • Recon (Blue):Enemies will briefly appear through walls after you respawn. Additionally, the edge of your HUD will flash yellow when an enemy out of your line of sight spots you (similar to the High Alert perk).
  • Strategist (Green):Earn bonus points by completing objectives and destroying enemy equipment. You can see enemy equipment through walls. Additionally, the deployment speed of equipment and field upgrades is improved.

If you select your perks so that all three slots are the same color, you will automatically get a bonus skill added to your gear as a combat specialty. All three combat specialties are powerful and well-balanced, but if I had to choose, I would go with ExecutorThat said, here are some good perk combinations to help you acquire these combat specialties:

Combat Specialty Advantage 1 Advantage 2 Advantage 3
Executor (Red) Scavenger Gung-Ho / Dexterity Finance
Recon (Blue) Ghost Transfer Intel Vigilance
Strategist (Green) Bulletproof vest / tactical mask Fast hands Steward

The Best Wildcards in the Black Ops 6 Beta

The Wildcard is a bonus skill, similar to perks, that you can equip in your loadout. Here are my favorite wildcards to use in Black Ops 6:

  1. Greed Advantage: Allows you to equip an additional perk. If you are undecided between two options, simply equip this wildcard and you will be able to equip both perks in your loadout.
  2. Exaggeration: Normally, you can equip a firearm in your primary weapon slot and a melee weapon in the secondary slot. With Overkill, you can equip two weapons at once, one as your primary weapon and one as your secondary weapon.
  3. Gunfighter:With Gunfighter Wildcard, you can equip up to three additional attachments on your weapon. This means you can have a total of eight attachments on your weapon instead of five.
