The NFL’s annual roster-cutting day officially ended at 4 p.m. ET Tuesday, as all 32 teams trimmed their rosters to the league’s 53-man limit.
With more than 900 combined players hitting free agency and the waiver list on Tuesday, there are a plethora of new names the Las Vegas Raiders could target to try to shore up their remaining weaknesses.
We’ll focus on the receiver market, as Las Vegas could use more depth behind its top players at the position. That said, here are a few receivers general manager Tom Telesco should target in free agency and on the waiver list to help shore up the position.
Terrace Marshall Jr. (waivers)
Marshall was released by the Panthers after three uninspiring seasons and will be looking for a fresh start. While the 24-year-old has yet to have a solid campaign, the Raiders should take a chance on LSU’s speedy, deep threat.
The former second-round pick averaged 17.5 yards per reception on 28 receptions in 2022 and still has the potential to be a fantastic depth player at receiver. Marshall would immediately be Las Vegas’ WR4 or WR5 if given the opportunity to revive his career under the Raiders’ new regime led by Antonio Pierce.
Noah Brown (free agent)
Despite missing seven games in 2023, Brown recorded back-to-back 500-yard seasons and posted a 109.1 passer rating when targeted last season. The 28-year-old was the odd man out in Houston’s talented receiving room and remains a high-end depth receiver.
Brown is one of the most experienced players on this roster and would be a great addition to the Raiders’ receiver room. The former seventh-round pick is also a decent special teams player, logging over 100 special teams snaps in each of the last four seasons.
Donovan Peoples-Jones (free agent)
Peoples-Jones was traded to Detroit at the deadline last season but was released by the team on Tuesday. The 25-year-old had a rough 2023 campaign but is just two years removed from a 61-reception, 839-yard season in 2022.
Signing the former Michigan standout would be a low-risk, high-reward signing for Telesco, as Peoples-Jones still has gas in the tank.
Parris Campbell (free agent)
Campbell has struggled to stay healthy throughout his NFL career. The 27-year-old had a breakout year in 2022 with the Colts, catching 63 receptions for 623 yards and three touchdowns.
He had a disappointing first campaign with the Giants in 2023 and was released by the Eagles on Tuesday after signing a one-year deal with Philadelphia in March. If Campbell can return to his 2022 form, he would be a decent depth piece in an extremely heavy receiver room.
Isaiah Hodgins (free agent)
Hodgins was one of the biggest surprises of the day, as he has been a solid depth receiver for the Giants since joining the team midway through the 2022 season.
The 25-year-old still has potential and has only been drafted once in the last two seasons on 77 targets. If Las Vegas is lucky enough to acquire Hodgins, he would be a nice addition to Edgar Bennett’s group.
Michael Thomas (free agent)
It’s been almost five years since Thomas broke the single-season receptions record (149) and led the league in receiving yards with 1,725.
While the 31-year-old isn’t nearly the same player he once was, Thomas can still be a decent depth piece and veteran presence in a Raiders receiver room that’s scouting for exciting but inexperienced talent behind the top two options.
