Last year, both squads had less-than-stellar showings. A year after a Super Bowl appearance, the 49ers finished last in the NFC West with a 6-11 record. The Saints, on the other hand, continued in their downward trajectory by finishing 5-12.
But it’s a new season now. New Orleans has young QB options in Spencer Rattler an dTyler Shough while relying on experienced players like Alvin Kamara and Chris Olave to help the offense reach its potential.
San Francisco, on the other hand, has all the pieces it needs to get back to contending position. Christian McCaffrey is back after last season’s injuries, George Kittle is ready to do George Kittle things and the pickup of Brian Robinson will help the rushing game.
