Pokemon Go’s Legendary Heroes event is now available for trainers and comes with a new timed research quest.
The event focuses on the Sword mascot Zacian and introduces its Shiny variant to the game for the first time.
Legendary Heroes runs from September 26, 2024 to October 1 and features a new timed research quest for fans to complete.

- Catch Eight Pokémon – Skwovet Encounter
Rewards: x8 PokeBalls, 800 XP, 800 Stardust
After completing this task, trainers will be faced with the choice between the shield path and the sword path.
Path of the Sword
Step 1 of 2
- Use eight berries to help catch Pokémon – Incense x1
- Light up Pokémon eight times – Darumaka Encounter
- Catch eight Pokémon – x8 Great Balls
Rewards: x8 Poke Balls, 800 XP, 800 Stardust
Step 2 of 2
- Explore 3 km – x8 Razz Berry
- Use an incense – Meeting Deino
- Catch eight Pokémon – x8 Ultra Balls
Rewards: Rufflet encounter, 800 XP, 800 Stardust
Shield Path
Step 1 of 2
- Use eight berries to help catch Pokémon – Incense x1
- Power Up Pokémon Eight Times – Galarian Ponyta Encounter
- Catch eight Pokémon – x8 Great Balls

- Explore 3 km – x8 Razz Berry
- Use an incense – Meeting Larvitar
- Catch eight Pokémon – x8 Ultra Balls

How to Access Legendary Heroes Timed Research
Those wishing to participate in this research will simply need to open Pokemon Go between September 26 at 10 a.m. and October 1 at 8 p.m. local time.
Research is free, but since it is timed, trainers will need to complete all tasks and collect rewards before the event ends.
