In the Dark Horizon DLC, you can find a brand new archetype called the Guardian. To unlock it, you will need to find the engram in the world and bring it back to Wallace.
How to Access the New Dark Horizon Warden Archetype in Remnant 2
To unlock the Guardian, you’ll need to obtain the Command Module in the N’Erud open world. Once you’ve reached the second large open world section of the N’Erud map and unlocked the Withered Necropolis fast travel point, find the Guardian (the green marker on the map below). There will be a mechanism on the edge of the cliff nearby (the blue marker on the map below); once you get close enough, a glider will appear and allow you to glide down the cliff.
Jump off the cliff and hug the massive pillar on the right; you’re looking for wind pillars to push you back into the air a few times. There will be a brightly lit area above you that you’ll need to fly across using an air current. Kill all the enemies that spawn there, then head through the left entrance and find the long bridge. There will be an elite enemy halfway across the bridge. At the end of the bridge, you’ll find the Withered Mechanism; pick it up and return it to Wallace. There’s also a checkpoint nearby that you can jump to.
Where to find Wallace in Remnant 2

Wallace, or Wally, can be found in District 13. Look for him on the docks in a small house up the stairs. He will craft the unique item needed to unlock the Guardian, just like he has done with the other archetypes so far. You will need to bring him the module and five Lumenite Crystals, and he will craft you the item you need to become a Guardian.
What does the Guardian start with in Remnant 2?
Once you unlock the Guardian, you can create a brand new character that will be a Guardian. They will start with a unique starting armor set; this is the Nano-Plated Armor Set. This is an extremely lightweight armor set that looks pretty cool. It also gives you pretty good resistance to bleeding, rust, and fire. One of the coolest features of the Guardian is the drone; it shows where enemies are on the minimap when active.
The long weapon you start with is the Plasma Cutter which has a unique weapon mode called Heat Sink; it increases maximum damage and your weapon overheats much more slowly. The weapon says it automatically overheats when Heat Sink is no longer active, but this didn’t seem to happen to me when I used it (this could be a bug). It’s an energy-based cutting tool that produces a constant stream of damage.

The gun fires a stream of nanomachines that energize friendly drones or turrets or heal your allies when you shoot them. It also has an overheating mechanic. The gun also doesn’t have a unique mod built in, so you can pick and choose which mod you want for it. This means you start the game with two mods, one on each weapon, which is a pretty efficient way to start a new game.
The Guardian also has a very cool melee weapon called the Harvester’s Scythe. It has a fairly fast attack, but its charged attack has a ghost blade that greatly increases your melee speed. You can chain charged attacks together to get many stacks of these speed boosts.
