007 First Light Main Villain Explained
Sir Nicholas Webb is the main villain of 007 First Light. He is the creator of THEIA, the quantum computer used for research at MI6 headquarters. He primarily works with MI6 to help in gathering intel on conflicts around the world. However, later it is revealed that Webb also has a clone of this computer called HYPERION at his Antarctic base.
Webb used this clone computer to plan a coup d’état against the current government. This would ultimately lead to Webb having more power over the defense and tech industry after he conspired with Foreign Secretary Bright. Bond destroys that computer, and Agent Roth kills Nicholas Webb in the process.
This is where Roth betrays Bond and tries to steal the core of HYPERION. However, Bond gets hold of her and destroys it. Later, Webb’s son Damien returns to the MI6 headquarters to steal THEIA. This is where Bond finally uses the gadgets of 007 First Light and kills Damien Webb.
Damien previously worked as a henchman for his father to plant fake attacks on the locations where THEIA gave false information. These informations ended up affecting the operation Nightfall, where 009 was accused of treason. 009 dies after the events of Aleph, where another enemy, Bawma, turns ally as he helps James and Greenway escape.
So, yes, Sir Nicholas Webb ends up being revealed as the main villain of 007 First Light. While Damien was the final boss fight, he was also manipulated into committing the heinous acts by his father.
