Much of the football world’s attention will be on Germany during the European summer of 2024, as Euro 2024 will take place in the country.
The host nation, champions Italy and 22 other teams will compete for the right to become European champions, with the tournament starting on June 14, just two weeks after the 2023/24 club season concludes with the final of the UEFA Champions League.
That means several of the world’s best footballers will have little time to rest and recover from a grueling campaign at club level before facing the continent’s elite at the European Championship. If they make it all the way to the final, they will have another relatively quick turnaround before the start of the next European club season and the return of domestic matches and the revamped UEFA Champions League.

When does Euro 2024 end? End date, UEFA tournament final
Euro 2024 begins on June 14, 2024 and goes to the final on July 14, 2024. The title match will take place at the Olympiastadion in Berlin in 9 pm local time (3 pm ET).
The Euro Cup final takes place on the same day as the Copa América final in the United States. That game is at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida.
When does the 2024/25 club season start?
The major European leagues begin their 2024/25 seasons less than a month after the Euro Cup ends. The start dates of those competitions are listed in the table below.
UEFA Champions League first qualifying round begins before Euro ends, more July 9-10although it is highly unlikely that some players involved in the latter stages of the European Championship will also be needed for those qualification matches.
The Champions League, Europa League and Conference League proper do not start until September 2024. The UEFA Super Cup, the match between the winners of the 2023/24 Champions League and the Europa League, will be held on August 14exactly one month after the Euro Cup final.
