The next major macOS update, dubbed Sequoia, is just around the corner. Like iOS 18, it is built around “Apple Intelligence” and includes various AI-powered features. On top of that, it also introduces new features including improved window tiling, iPhone mirroring, and an updated password app, to name a few. So, if you are eager to get your hands on macOS 15, keep reading as we discuss the release date and time when the update will be available on your system.

Apple has officially revealed that macOS Sequoia will be available starting September 16, 2024 on supported Macs.

Apple announced macOS 15 at its Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC) in June this year. The Sequoia beta is already available, so if you can’t wait for the official release, you can use our guide to install macOS Sequoia beta on your Mac.

Devices compatible with macOS 15

We know you’re excited to see all the new features and benefits Sequoia has in store for your Mac, but before you get too excited, why not check if your system is eligible to receive the update?

Starting with MacBooks, all laptops from the 2018 MacBook Pro to the recent 2024 MacBook Air M3 will receive the macOS 15 update. As for Macs and Mac Minis, if you own a 2017 iMac Pro or later, you can rest assured that your device will receive the update. Here are all the devices that are compatible with macOS Sonoma:
