The Celtics are now one win away from the 2024 NBA title, as they defeated the Mavericks on the road in Game 3 to take a 3-0 series lead.
Boston held a 91-70 lead with 11 minutes left in the fourth quarter, but a 22-2 run by Dallas cut the deficit to one point. Mavericks star Luka Doncic fouled out with four minutes left and the Celtics were able to hold on.
Jayson Tatum had his best game of the Finals with 31 points, while Jaylen Brown scored 30 points, eight rebounds and eight assists. Boston was without center Kristaps Porzingis after he suffered a rare leg injury in Game 2.
Doncic and Kyrie Irving combined for their best game of the Finals, scoring 62 of the team’s 99 points. The Mavericks’ next leading scorer was PJ Washington, who finished with 13 points.
