Who is Mike Perry?
Born in Flint, Michigan, Perry began boxing training at age 11. He was later incarcerated for robbery and began training in MMA after being released. The 32-year-old turned pro MMA in 2014 and joined the UFC in 2016, going 7-8 inside the Octagon. He finished his career with the promotion with a 1-4 record in his last five fights.
One notable moment in the cage was when only his girlfriend was in his corner in a 2020 fight against Mickey Gall.
After his UFC contract expired in 2021, Perry joined Bare Knuckle FC. “Platinum” has a 5-0 record for the promotion and defeated Eddie Alvarez via TKO to earn the symbolic “King of Violence” title. He has won three fights in a row with the power punch and feels right at home in bare-knuckle boxing.
He has real boxing experience, having lost to Kenneth McNeil in 2015.
Outside of the fight world, Perry is a controversial figure. He is known for using racial slurs and was charged with Class A assault (a misdemeanor) after beating an elderly man and a restaurant employee in Texas.
