Chainsaw Man Chapter 176 finally gives Yoru a way to defeat the titular Devil – but not without sacrifice.

As one of the Four Horsemen, Yoru is among the most powerful demons in Chainsaw Man. Yet, she is no match for Pochita, whose power is legendary and includes erasing entire concepts from existence.

The stark difference between their power levels is evident when Yoru fights him after Denji goes on a rampage following Nayuta’s gruesome death. In a matter of seconds, he has overwhelmed her, removing her arms from existence, and is about to kill her.

Facing his death, Yoru recalls his conversation with Asa. Chainsaw Man Chapter 176, titled “Two Children”, shows the two sitting together in a bathhouse as they discuss the only way to defeat or even stand a chance against Pochita.

Asa asks Yoru to bury the hatchet and end his feud with the Chainsaw Man. But the War Devil reveals that she can’t, as Pochita ate his comrades and she needs to make him vomit. Furthermore, she even has a way to do it, but it requires such a huge sacrifice that she hasn’t attempted it yet.

But Yoru is willing to make that sacrifice now that she’s about to be killed by the Chainsaw Man. In a shocking twist, the War Devil summons her two children—the Weapon Devil and the Tank Devil—and uses them as his arms.

In the blink of an eye, Yoru takes on the Chainsaw Man, freeing the Devil Mouth and bringing mouths back into the world. But in doing so, she has effectively sacrificed her children.

However, given that she is the Devil of War and possibly the mother of all weapons, Yoru may not be done having children yet. She must have more and can summon them all whenever she needs them. If this is indeed true, then she is currently the only person (or Devil) who can stop the Chainsaw Man.
