2025 NFL Trade Deadline Forecasts: Insights and Predictions by Vinnie Iyer

The NFL trade deadline is looming for 2025, with all deals for veteran players needing to be made before 4 p.m. ET on Tuesday. Nov. 4.

Although some rumors have cooled, there is plenty of remaining buzz swirling around those most likely to be moved.

Here’s looking for ideal, most reasonable landing spots for 11 such players, most on the block, from offensive skill talent to pass-rushing stars:

Jets RB Breece Hall to Chargers

The Chargers have lost both Omarion Hampton and Najee Harris to injuries. Hassan Haskins is hurting, too, leaving a lot on Kimani Vidal to carry the load. They should get back Hampton (high ankle sprain) at some point late in the second half, but they also don’t have much more room to stumble in the standings in a tight AFC West race with the Broncos and Chiefs. Being aggressive to land Hall can be a game-changer for an already loaded rushing and passing attack.

Raiders WR Jakobi Meyers to Patriots

Meyers has been wanting out of Las Vegas for a while. Although New England is finding ways for Drake Maye to make big plays with a receiving corps that includes Kayshon Boutte, Stefon Diggs, Demario Douglas, Hunter Henry and Austin Hooper, there’s a void for a true dedicated big slot to produce. Meyers would be the easy, natural fit reuniting with Josh McDaniels.

Seahawks CB Riq Woolen to Eagles

The Eagles’ secondary has some issues this season despite having second-year starters Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean for the outside. They need help on the perimeter to better handle contenders with top-field stretchers. Woolen has been on the block for a while and would be a plug-and-play in their starting lineup.

Saints WR Chris Olave (or WR Rashid Shaheed) to Steelers

The Saints cannot move both receivers if they want to give big-armed rookie second-round quarterback Tyler Shough a fair second-half evaluation behind Spencer Rattler, ahead of thinking about QB early in the 2026 draft. Olave looks like he’s staying put for Kellen Moore’s offense, but there still could be an offer GM Mickey Loomis can’t refuse.

With that reluctance to move Olave, Shaheed, the speedy deep threat who can shine out of the slot, is more likely to go. The Steelers need either to help DK Metcalf and Aaron Rodgers with inconsistent young complements such as Roman Wilson and Calvin Austin III.

Bengals EDGE Trey Hendrickson to Colts

The Bengals have tried to hold firm on not moving Hendrickson but the devastating loss to the Jets that really puts into question any second-half playoff surge may have changed their tune a little. This is a no-brainer should Colts GM Chris Ballard want to be aggressive, given Hendrickson’s massive sack production under former Cincinnati defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo.

Raiders EDGE Maxx Crosby to Cowboys

With the Cowboys’ defense breaking down against any above-average offense with its lacking pass rush and coverage issues, Jerry Jones needs to decide whether his 3-4-1 team will be buyers at the deadline. It seems like Crosby or bust for Dallas to try to replace Micah Parsons, but it’s no surprise Pete Carroll & Co. are hesitant to move the Raiders’ only true defensive impact player.

Dolphins EDGE Jaelen Phillips to Lions

The Dolphins have a strong defensive overall asset to help them get more key draft capital for their rebuild. The Lions may not be able to give what it takes to make the Bengals move Hendrickson to them, but Phillips is a strong plan B to get that much needed experienced complementary pass rusher for Defensive Player of the Year candidate Aidan Hutchinson.

Saints CB Alonte Taylor to Bears

Taylor would be reunited with former Saints coordinator Dennis Allen in this move as the Bears need some real depth and help outside for their secondary as No. 1 Tyrique Stevenson is battling injury and Nahshon Wright has been overwhelmed as the No. 2.

Bengals LB Logan Wilson to Bills

Wilson wants out of Cincinnati with all the new defensive dysfunction. He would be a valuable addition to the Buffalo defense given some ineffectiveness vs. the run and in coverage, plus durability issues for starters Matt Milano and Terrell Bernard.

Titans EDGE Arden Key to 49ers

The 49ers not only lost Nick Bosa for the season, but of late, Bryce Huff and Yetuer Gross-Matos have needed to miss time opposite rookie Mykel Williams. Key can provide some versatility and experience for Robert Saleh’s scheme at a reasonable cost vs. trading for the Jets’ Jermaine Johnson II.

Browns RB Jerome Ford to Texans

Nick Chubb and Ford would be a good reunion to consider with Joe Mixon’s injury issue lingering and rookie Woody Marks unable to be trusted for too much work because of his blocking issues. Ford can do a little of everything well to help the offense.
