Avello was at The Wynn in the run-up to Super Bowl 49 between the Patriots and Seahawks, which ended ignominiously for Seattle when Malcolm Butler intercepted Russell Wilson in the end zone.
That made one Wynn customer very happy.
“He came in and said he wanted to bet a million on the game, and I said, ‘Okay,'” Avello said. “He transferred the money and we went to get the chips. The transaction was fast. We had the bet in his hand in about 15 minutes…
“When he collected the money, I asked him: ‘What was your handicap in the game? Why did you like the Patriots? He told me that he dreamed that they were going to win. So, he invested a million dollars in a game for a dream. That dream came true.”
“To me, it’s no surprise that the leader is McCaffrey,” he said. “But also Pacheco on Kelce, who is usually one of the big money draws. But Pacheco, for this particular game, they think maybe a rushing touchdown will be the first touchdown scored.”
“We are in very good shape with both teams,” Avello said. “Some of our biggest dangers were the Ravens and the Lions, who got eliminated. So we’re in good shape.”
