If you want to create a presentation for mobile phones, you’ll need to change the layout to portrait in Google Slides. Google Slides are designed for horizontal presentations. How to Make Vertical Slides in Google Slides

- Open Google Chrome and go to Google Slides.
- Select a new presentation. Tap the “File” menu after opening the app.
- Tap “Page Setup” at the bottom of the drop-down menu.
- A dialog box will appear. It will allow you to choose between four options. These are Standard 4:3, Widescreen (Layout) 16:9, Widescreen (Layout) 16:10, and Custom Orientation.
- You will need to select “Custom Targeting.”
- Notice that a drop-down menu appears. In the first text box, enter the width of the page.
- Enter the height in the second text box.
- Note that the dropdown box allows you to enter other measurements if you need them, such as centimeters, pixels, and points.
- When you’re done, tap “Apply.”
If you have followed these steps correctly, your slides will be vertical.
Choose dimensions
If you need help determining what dimensions to enter, the default value would be 10 x 5.62. But some other vertical sizes you can apply include A4 (8.27 x 11.69 inches), Ledger (17 x 11 inches), Tabloid (11 × 7 inches), Letter (8.5 x 11 inches), and Legal (8 .5 x 14 inches). You can enter these values after selecting the “custom orientation” option.

Use the “Present” option to see the experience
Remember that there are some cases where you may not be completely satisfied with the result even after using the dimensions in the table above. For example, the sizes you applied may make the presentation appear thin. If you don’t like it, you can go back to the configured page and enter new dimensions. - Choose “Custom Targeting.” The standard setting for Google Slides is “Widescreen 16:9.”
- Click the “Apply” button.
