With just 10 games left in the Premier League season, Manchester United continue their desperate search for a top-four spot as they visit Brentford in the late kick-off time on Saturday.
The Red Devils are sixth in the standings, six points behind fifth-placed Tottenham and nine behind fourth-placed Aston Villa. Man United will have to be near perfect the rest of the way to catch those two clubs, but Villa and Spurs look vulnerable if the Red Devils can make a late-season run.
Defeats to Fulham and Man City in early March hurt the cause, and clashes with Chelsea and Liverpool loom on the horizon in early April, making picking up three points in this game an absolute must.
Brentford are 15th in the table, five points above the relegation zone now that Nottingham Forest have been docked points for financial irregularities. It feels dangerous for the Bees as they have suffered a recent drop, but they don’t seem to be one of those in real danger of going down unless they fall further over the next month.

At this point in the season, although the Red Devils have many flaws, Erik ten Hag’s team is better in both talent and form. Manchester United have performed well on the road this year, picking up 22 points away from Old Trafford, the sixth most in the league.
United were lucky to beat Brentford at home in early October, with a pair of dramatic stoppage-time goals from Scott McTominay overturning a late deficit, but they deserved to win overall based on attacking the third production.
As of the end of March, the Bees have gone six straight games without a win, suffering defeats in five of those games. They were beaten on almost every occasion, with losses to Liverpool, Man City, Arsenal and even West Ham and Burnley all with significant expected goal differences. It may not be pretty, but United should take the three points.
