Tim Tszyu’s team have insisted the Australian has a rematch clause should he want to get back in there with Sebastian Fundora, a claim backed by the American’s agent.
Tszyu was relieved of his WBO super welterweight title, while Fundora also took the vacant WBC belt back to Coachella, California, with a split decision victory at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Saturday night. evening.
Amid some confusion over whether there was a rematch clause, Tszyu’s promoter, George Rose of No Limit Boxing, confirmed that his fighter had the option to fight the 6’6″ southpaw.

“If we want to accept it, we will accept it. I would love to see Tim take that and get those belts back.

Fundora’s agent Sampson Lewkowicz backed Rose’s claims, after initially suggesting there was no rematch clause.
“We were all so eager to fight that many of our agreements were made verbally,” Lewkowicz said.
“There wasn’t enough time. But I want to make it clear that Team Fundora will honor the agreement. My word is always equal to a signed contract.
“Tim Tszyu, your rematch will be ready when you are.
“If he doesn’t accept the rematch, we will accept the WBO mandatory or Spence, whatever the WBO says, but the first priority is the rematch with Tim Tszyu.”
After the fight, Errol Spence faced Fundora in the ring, having already declared his desire to face the winner.
Rose said all options were still on the table for Tszyu, although Terence Crawford took to social media to tell Tszyu he would have to “work his way back up.”
“If an opportunity arises to fight Errol Spence or Terence Crawford… it would be foolish not to consider it, but all of those fights are fights that he would love to have, fights that I would love to see him in. Rose said, before praising Tszyu for his efforts under difficult circumstances.

After the fight, Tszyu was asked about the challenges the cut created.
