How to delete an Evernote notebook from a PC
You can access your Evernote account through the desktop app or Evernote Web using your PC or Mac. Follow these steps to delete your laptop using either option:
Desktop application
- Login to your account.

- Select “Notebooks” from the options in the left panel.

- Right click on the notebook you want to delete.

- Choose “Delete Notebook” from the options. The notes will automatically be moved to the “Trash”.

EvernoteWeb
- Navigate to EvernoteWeb and log in to your account.

- In the left panel options, click “Notebooks.”

- Open the notebook you want to delete.

- In the notebook header at the top of the notes list, click the three-dot “More Actions” icon.

- Choose “Delete Notebook.” The notes will be moved to the “Trash”.

For the previous version of Evernote Web:
- Log in and select the “Notebooks” option.
- Find and then open the notebook you want to delete.
- Select the “Note Information” icon (i) in the notebook header.
- Click “Delete Notebook.” Your notes will be sent to the “Trash”.
How to delete an Evernote notebook from an iPhone
Removing a laptop from the mobile app is as easy as using a PC. Here’s how to delete an Evernote notebook using your iPhone:
- Open the “Evernote” app.

- Tap the hamburger menu icon in the top left corner.

- Press “Notebooks.”

- Tap the notebook you want to delete.

- The notebook information will be displayed. Tap the three-dot menu icon in the top right corner.

Why is Delete Notebook grayed out?
One of your notebooks is set as default and the delete option for that notebook will not be available. To fix this problem, set another notebook as the default:
1. Choose another laptop and then select the “Set as default” option.
2. Now, go back to the notebook you wanted to delete and the “Delete” option should be available.
Can I restore a deleted notebook?
You cannot restore a notebook once it has been deleted, as the notes are moved to the “Trash” and the empty notebook is permanently deleted from your account.
However, you can restore inpidual notes from the “Trash” as follows:
1. Open the note you want to restore from the “Trash”.
2. Click the three dots icon for “More Actions”.
3. Choose “Restore Note”.
Once your notes are restored, you can create a new notebook to contain them.
Why won’t Evernote let me delete a notebook?
If the notebook you want to delete is set as the default, the delete option will be grayed out. Set another notebook as default, then delete option will be available.

Evernote is a reliable note-taking app for organizing, managing tasks, and archiving notes. Your notes can be organized in notebooks and accessed from any device. Evernote allows you to delete your notebooks to help keep your account tidy and create storage space if necessary.
