Some Gmail users may sometimes need to show some of their emails to other people. There are a few ways to attach emails to Gmail emails. You can forward messages or attach an email file saved in your cloud storage or hard drive.
Here are some tips for attaching emails to Gmail emails.
Resend an email
If you just need to share an email in your inbox, forwarding it might be the best option. Gmail Forward The option allows you to add a selected email to the end of a new message. You can forward Gmail emails in your inbox or those you’ve sent.
Open an email to forward it in Gmail. Click the “Forward” option at the bottom of the email.

Enter an email address to send the forwarded email, enter some text above the forwarded email and press the button Send button.

Copy and paste emails
Alternatively, you can simply copy and paste other emails into a single email to attach them without any files. You can do this by selecting the text of an email with the cursor and pressing the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + C (Cmd+C on a Mac). Click To composeand press the hotkey Ctrl + V (Cmd+V on a Mac) to paste the copied message into the text editor.
Attach an email PDF to a Gmail email
However, forwarding or copying and pasting messages may not be ideal if you need to send a lot of emails in your inbox. Instead, you can send multiple emails in your inbox to another recipient by attaching actual email files to Gmail messages. To do this, you need to save the emails as PDF files; but Gmail doesn’t include any obvious option to download messages as PDFs.
A Google Drive account is ideal for sending PDF files via Gmail, which you can set up in this page. You can then save Gmail emails to Google Drive as PDF files. But you can also save the email to your local machine. Note that we’re using a Mac for this, but your Windows PC will only vary slightly.
Attach an email using a Mac or PC
First, open the email to save it to Google Drive in Gmail. Click the printer icon in the upper right corner.

That will open the print preview window shown directly below. Click “More settings.”

Next, you’ll need to scroll down a bit and click “Open PDF in Preview.” If you are using a Windows computer to perform this task, you will probably see another destination for your PDF. But don’t worry, you can still save the PDF to your system and send it via Gmail.

A new window will open with your email. Now, click on the share icon (on both Mac and Windows) to send the message via email or you can save it. If you choose to send the message by email, you will do so from your system’s default email client.

If you choose to save the email to your system (File>Save>Choose Location), you can attach the PDF like any other file using Gmail on the website or app. This method works for both PC and Mac users.

Now, open Gmail and click “Compose.”

Then, attach your file by clicking the paperclip icon at the bottom, navigate to the location of your saved email, and click “Send.” Of course, you’ll also need to fill out the recipient, add a subject, and add any text you need.

Attach a PDF using Google Drive
As mentioned above, attaching an email using Google Drive is quite simple. This is a two-step process, but we promise it’s really simple.
Save your email to Google Drive
The easiest way to save a Gmail to your Google Drive has this Chrome extension. Install the extension and sign in to your Gmail account.
Open the email you want to send and click the puzzle piece icon in the top right corner. Then, click on the Google Drive extension. This will automatically save your email to your Google Drive.

Send your email from Google Drive
press the To compose in Gmail to open the New Message text editor. Click on the Insert files using Drive to open the window shown directly below. Select a Gmail email PDF to attach from there and press the button Insert button.

You should see the Gmail PDF attached at the top of the new email, as shown directly below. Click that attachment to open a PDF preview in Google Chrome. You can delete attachments by clicking on them. xicons.

Attach emails using the Gmail mobile app
Of course, it’s certainly easier to just forward an email from the mobile app, but if you want to use the PDF to email method described above, it’s also very simple.
Open the email you want to save, then send it and click the three vertical dots in the body of the email.

Then click “Print.”

At the top, select the drop-down arrow next to the destination. Select the PDF option, then select the location where you want to save the file.

Finally, create a new email and fill out the necessary fields. Then click the paper clip icon to attach your file. Choose the location where you saved it, click the file, and then click “Send.”
Back up Gmail emails with the Save Emails and Attachments plugin
Save Emails and Attachments is a Google Sheets add-on that automatically saves your Gmail emails as PDF files. As such, this plugin will be useful for attaching emails to Gmail messages. Instead of manually saving them as PDF files, you can set the plugin to automatically backup emails.
First, add Save Emails and Attachments to Google Sheets by pressing the button + Free button on this Web page. Open Sheets, click Accessories > Save emails and Attached files and select Create rule. It will ask you to switch to a Save Emails sheet, so press the button Open spreadsheet to open the sheet below.

Click Accessories > Save emails and Attached files > Create new rule to open the window directly below. There you can enter a variety of conditions to match saved emails. For example, filling out the Received after and Before boxes will save emails received between those dates to Google Drive.

You can automatically save all your Gmail emails to Google Drive by entering the current date in the Received Before box. press the Select drive folder button. Choose a folder to save them, click Select and press the Save button. Having automatically saved all your Gmail emails with the plugin, you don’t need to manually save them as PDF files before attaching them to new messages.

Frequent questions
Can I send multiple emails in a single email?
You can do this, but to do so you will first need to save them all as PDF files as explained above. This is a great solution if you need to forward multiple emails to one person. Simply save them as PDF files (be sure to save them in the same location to avoid confusion later) and attach them all to an email.
Can I drag and drop Gmail?
Unfortunately not. As of February 2021, this did not work on any of the devices we tested. Of course, it would be a very cool solution, so if you managed to drag and drop one email into another, we’d love to know how to do it in the comments below!
