Cristiano Ronaldo will play his eleventh major international tournament after being called up by Portugal for Euro 2024.
The 39-year-old Al-Nassr striker is the most prolific and capped player in the history of international football, with 206 appearances and 128 goals for Portugal.
Portugal coach Roberto Martínez included Ronaldo among the seven forwards in his 26-man squad for the tournament in Germany.
Ronaldo made his international tournament debut at Euro 2004, where Portugal finished runners-up to surprise Greece in their own country. The five-time Ballon d’Or winner led Portugal to victory at Euro 2016 and the 2018/19 UEFA Nations League.
The rest of the squad features nine Premier League players, including three from Wolverhampton Wanderers: José Sa, Nelson Semedo and Pedro Neto.
Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes and right-back Diogo Dalot join Bernardo Silva, Ruben Dias, Joao Palhinha and Diogo Jota as the other English top-flight players taking part.
Legendary defender Pepe will be in the tournament despite turning 41 in February. His Porto teammate, Francisco Conceicao, 21, is also part of the team.
How many players are in the Euro 2024 squads?
On 3 May 2024, UEFA’s executive committee confirmed that national teams could name 26 players in their squads for Euro 2024.
This was the number allowed due to the impact of COVID-19 on Euro 2020, while the FIFA World Cup taking place midway through the 2022/23 European season meant larger teams were also allowed.
UEFA had intended to return to a 23-man limit for Euro 2024, but the national competitions committee voting in favor of 26-man teams forced a rethink.

Can Portugal replace players in Euro 2024 squad?
Teams must confirm their preliminary squads before May 21th and present the final squad lists to UEFA before June 7th.
Replacements may be made due to illness or injury until the June 13ththe day before the tournament starts.
Once Euro 2024 begins, teams will need to find solutions within their 26-man squads.
