After the medal ceremony, a dejected Mourinho handed his runners-up medal to a fan. The Portuguese coach then waited in a parking lot for referee Anthony Taylor and shouted at him that it was a “damn disgrace” because the English referee had not sanctioned his Serie A club.
The Premier League referee showed 13 yellow cards that night, setting a record for a European final, and also cautioned several members of the Roma bench, including Mourinho.
