It’s no secret that Luke Newton is Bridgerton latest heartthrob, but the actor would still like to protect his real-life mother from some of his most passionate scenes in the hit. Netflix romantic series.
Newton appeared on today’s episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show where he joked that he has to be “really good with the fast forward button” before he can let his mother, who happens to be a Bridgerton super fan: watch season 3.
“I went home to show him a preview episode before the release and we sat down and watched episode 1. And I thought, ‘I’m safe here. Great,’” she told host Kelly Clarkson. “But I left my Netflix account logged in at home… and then I kept getting texts like, ‘Can I watch episode 2?’ I’m with your dad. Can we watch episode 2? I was like, ‘Yeah, okay.'”
Newton continued: “Later, when she he episode, I won’t let her watch it yet. I think I need to get a lot better with the fast forward button. There is some steam.”
The actor is not joking! Bridgerton The third season follows his character Colin Bridgerton as his friendship with Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) develops into a passionate romance. Fans who enjoyed the first four episodes of the season were left with a gripping cliffhanger, which also happened to be the infamous carriage scene from the Julia Quinn books on which the show is based.
Coughlan also teased that there is more to come between Colin and Penelope, revealing that an impending nude scene was his idea.
“I specifically asked for certain lines and moments to be included. There is a scene where I am very naked on camera, and that was my idea, my choice,” she said.Stylistmagazine. “I just felt like the biggest ‘fuck you’ in the whole conversation about my body; he was incredibly empowering.”
She added: “I felt beautiful at that moment and I thought, ‘When I’m 80, I want to look back on this and remember how fucking sexy I looked!'”
Bridgerton Season 3, Part 2 will be released on June 13 on Netflix.
