Since joining Manchester City in the summer of 2022, Erling Haaland has continued his development into a goalscoring titan of world football, breaking records and challenging for titles at all levels of competition.
The Norwegian has been a monster, breaking the Premier League’s single-season goals record in his first season in England and achieving a hat-trick that year. He continued to lead the club in goals again as City claimed their fourth consecutive domestic top-flight title.
However, there is a big gap in Haaland’s career record, which is largely unfinished at just 23 years old: he has been covered in cup finals.

Erling Haaland goals in finals for Manchester City and Dortmund
Erling Haaland has played in six cup finals for Manchester City in all competitions and has not scored a single goal in any of them.
In fact, in his nine cup finals in his professional club career, he has scored just three goals, all of them in his early days at Borussia Dortmund. He has been blank in seven consecutive finals since he scored a double in the 2021 DFB Cup final with BVB.

Erling Haaland goals in the semi-finals for Man City and Dortmund
Incredibly, Haaland has never scored a goal in the semi-finals in his entire professional career.
He has been shut out three times for Manchester City, came up empty in the 2023 FA Cup semi-final against Sheffield United and also failed to score in any of the Champions League semi-final matches against Real Madrid en route to reach and win the title that year.
Earlier in his career, Haaland also failed to score in a pair of substitute appearances for both RB Salzburg and Molde. He came on at half-time of the 2019 OFB Cup semi-final with Salzburg already leading 4-0 at half-time, and 16-year-old Haaland came on for Molde in the final half hour of their eventual defeat at the NB- 2017. Erling Haaland career trophies won
Despite struggling in major cup finals, Haaland has still racked up a litany of trophies throughout his brilliant young career.
With Manchester City, he has taken his game to the next level, winning the Premier League title twice, including as part of a historic treble in 2022/23, adding the Champions League and FA Cup that season.
