It’s a ‘Bridgerton’ romance: Bessie Carter and Sam Phillips are supposedly dating in real life

An off-screen romance has emerged between two of BridgertonSeason 3 stars.

The show’s own Bessie Carter and Sam Phillips, who play Prudence Featherington and Lord Debling respectively, were caught kissing while out together on Saturday (June 22) in Sussex. MY! News reports. The outlet shared images in which Bessie is seen kissing Phillips’ shoulder and apparently whispering in his ear.

The two were reportedly linked long before last weekend, as they were photographed together on the red carpet in a little lifeIt will premiere in March 2023, according to Just Jared. At the end of November 2023 they attended the premiere of Wonka, in which Bessie’s father, Jim Carter, played Abacus Crunch. Her mother, Imelda Staunton, was also present.

The following month, the four stars attended the final celebration of The crown, while Staunton played Queen Elizabeth II in seasons 5 and 6, according to E! News. Bessie and Phillips also posed together in the Bridgerton Season 3 world premiere, along with co-stars Ruth Gemmell and Lorraine Ashbourne.

The series has remained steamy this season, with Nicola Coughlan and Luke Newton even accidentally breaking a piece of furniture while filming a sex scene. Season 4 was renewed in 2022, and showrunner Jess Brownell teased that they’ll “work as fast as humanly possible to deliver it,” but that she “wish[es she] I could have it arrive sooner.”

“We always hope to reach the fans sooner, but I don’t know if it’s possible,” he explained. “In this show, each episode is like producing a feature film. He’s so involved with so many characters. There are so many plots we’re trying to break and weave that writing and producing takes longer than any other show I’ve ever heard of.”

Bridgerton Seasons 1 to 3 are now streaming Netflix.
