The Los Angeles Clippers are in serious danger of losing half of their All-Star forward tandem, Paul George.

George is widely rumored to be on his way out of Los Angeles, and ESPN’s Brian Windhorst can’t understand the Clippers’ approach to the situation.

“What I find interesting about this is the stance the Clippers are taking. This is a very important player for them. They’re very interested in him, but they’re not acting like they’re desperate to keep him,” Windhorst said on NBA Today. “We’re so used to seeing these teams in danger of losing star free agents go all out and not offer him a max contract.”

The NBA analyst included the Philadelphia 76ers and the Golden State Warriors in the category of possible destinations, and mentioned that a reunion with the Oklahoma City Thunder is a long shot. If George makes it to Philadelphia or Golden State, the respective organization will immediately position itself as a title contender.
