Now available on Netflix, the eight-episode season follows five of the NFL’s top pass catchers (Davante Adams, Justin Jefferson, George Kittle, Deebo Samuel and Amon-Ra St. Brown) on and off the field during the 2023 season. Like the streaming service’s previous NFL docuseries, Attacking player, Receiver offers an interesting look behind the scenes of the 2023 season while also giving fans a fascinating insight into the personalities behind some of the NFL’s brightest stars.
In the first episode, we learned that Amon-Ra St. Brown’s father was a two-time Mr. Universe. His father’s work ethic influenced the Detroit Lions’ star receiver, whose intense training regimen includes catching an additional 202 balls each day after practice on the JUGS machine. Two words: party bus.
Move over, Travis Kelce. There’s a new party tight end in town. You might not recognize him out of uniform, but it’s George Kittle, a Pro Bowler for the San Francisco 49ers. George’s wife, Claire Kittle, goes to every 49ers game, home and away. Because the Kittle family is large, they travel to every game on a party bus adorned with a shirtless George saying “Oh, hello!” wearing only a pair of his trademark sunglasses. “We love party moments on the bus,” says Claire in Receiver While partying with George’s mom on the way to San Francisco Week 3 Thursday Night Football home game against the New York Giants. “It’s a very energetic group.”
The party bus, which did not go unnoticed, must have been a good luck charm. The 49ers defeated the Giants 30-12, and Kittle caught seven passes for 90 yards. San Francisco made it all the way to the Super Bowl last year before losing in heartbreaking fashion 25-22 to the Kansas City Chiefs.
Can the Kittles hop on the party bus for another Super Bowl appearance with the 49ers? Time will tell.
