Another new dawn is on the horizon at Chelsea following Mauricio Pochettino’s decision to leave Stamford Bridge by mutual consent after just one year in charge, with former Leicester City manager Enzo Maresca now in the home dugout at Stamford Bridge.
Pochettino ended the 2023/24 season on a high note, but the season was disappointing for the Blues. Chelsea finished the Premier League season in sixth place and, in addition to being eliminated in the semi-finals of the FA Cup, were runners-up in the Carabao Cup behind Liverpool.
The former Tottenham Hotspur manager guided Chelsea to secure Europa Conference League football for 2024/25, meaning the bloated squad at Maresca’s disposal could come in handy.
Since the arrival of owners Clearlake and Todd Boehly, the Blues have been the protagonists of the transfer market, and this summer doesn’t look like it will be any different. When the new campaign gets underway, Chelsea’s squad could look very different to that of 2023/24.
