After a starring role in England’s run to the Euro 2024 final, Crystal Palace centre-back Marc Guehi has moved to the top of many Premier League clubs’ wish lists.
With his contract expiring in two years, the Eagles will need to make a decision on their emerging star soon to prevent him from reaching the final season of his current deal.
Liverpool have been strongly linked with a move for Guehi, as the Reds are a sensible move for the 24-year-old given their needs. New manager Arne Slot inherited a defensive line with veteran star Virgil van Dijk, Ibrahima Konate, Joe Gomez and youngster Jarell Quansah as viable options to start in the middle.

The Telegraph reported In mid-June, Crystal Palace were asking £65m ($82m) for the England defender. However, that could be further complicated by a pair of clauses in Guehi’s contract.
According to the Daily MailGuehi’s move from Chelsea to Crystal Palace in 2021 saw the Blues retain a sell-on clause and a buy-back clause for the England star. Any permanent move from Crystal Palace would see Chelsea pocket 20% of the transfer fee unless they go for the player themselves, with the Blues also having the opportunity to match any incoming bid.
Sell-on clauses, in particular, can complicate transfers, as the selling club does not receive the full amount and could increase the asking price to make up for the shortfall.
