Liverpool have confirmed their 28-man squad for their pre-season tour of the United States.
It’s a summer of transition for Liverpool following the emotional departure of Jürgen Klopp, with Arne Slot set to oversee his debut campaign as Reds head coach in 2024/25.
The Reds have already earned some minutes in the 1-0 defeat to Championship side Preston North End in a behind-closed-doors friendly on Friday, but their preparations for the new campaign will intensify on Tuesday when they travel to the United States for their pre-season tour.
The US tour will give new boss Slot the chance to show fans what he has to offer in terms of playing style and preferred formation.
The Reds play Real Betis on Saturday and Arsenal on August 1 in Philadelphia before facing fierce rivals Manchester United in South Carolina on August 4.
A mix of young players, reserves and experienced first-team stars will take part in the tournament, with some of those who featured in international tournaments this summer joining later in the tour.
Alisson, Ibrahima Konate, Virgil van Dijk, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joe Gomez, Alexis Mac Allister, Cody Gakpo, Ryan Gravenberch, Diogo Jota, Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz are still enjoying extended breaks after their participation in the Euros and Copa America.
However, players such as Dominik Szoboszlai, Mohamed Salah, Andy Robertson, Curtis Jones, Wataru Endo and Harvey Elliott have already travelled to the United States this week.
Among the young prospects making the trip are Ben Doak, Trey Nyoni, Luke Chambers and Amara Nallo. They will be joined by a host of first-team regulars including Jarell Quansah, Kostas Tsimikas, Conor Bradley, Stefan Bajcetic, James McConnell and Kaide Gordon.
Not all players will be travelling, however. Young talents Jayden Danns and Bobby Clark have been sidelined with injuries, while goalkeeper Fabian Mrozek will also miss the match.
