According Insider information about footballAston Villa have submitted a loan offer for England international midfielder Kalvin Phillips.
The Manchester City outcast has no future at the Etihad as other clubs are also vying to sign the 28-year-old, who wants to leave the Etihad and find a club where he can be a regular, preferably in the Premier League as there is some concrete interest in the fund.
Last week, reports suggested that Everton had held talks with the England international’s representatives and the Cityzens over a possible loan move. The Toffees are currently looking for a replacement for Amadou Onana, who ironically has just completed a £50m ($64m) move to join Aston Villa.
Aston Villa are now also interested in signing Phillips, with manager Unai Emery keen to build a squad with significant depth as the team prepares for the Champions League next season.
Phillips has struggled to find his feet at Manchester City since his £45million move from Leeds in 2022, making just 31 appearances.

A loan move to West Ham United last season did little to improve Phillips’ situation, with the former Leeds United star racking up just 320 minutes of playing time in all competitions. He was dropped from the England squad as a result of that poor form and Pep Guardiola’s side are now looking to offload him this summer.
Everton are considering a loan with an option to buy, but Manchester City are hesitant to agree to another outright loan unless it includes an obligation to buy.
Despite this, Villa have made the first concrete move in the race for Phillips by submitting a loan offer.
