The father of Barcelona star Lamine Yamal has been taken to hospital after being stabbed, according to reports in Spain.
The incident is believed to have occurred on August 14 in a car park in Mataró, near Barcelona. Regional police have reportedly arrested three people in connection with the alleged attack. A fourth person was arrested on August 15, according to Sport.
The Catalan Spanish press reported that Lamine Yamal had spoken to his father, Mounir Nasraoui, who is out of danger and is under observation in a Barcelona hospital. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
Later on August 15, Nasraoui himself posted on social media to say he was “doing better now” and to thank people for their messages of support.

The Vanguard It was reported late on 14 August that Mounir Nasraoui had been stabbed in a car park in Mataró, a coastal town north of Barcelona.
The newspaper said the man was taken to Badalona hospital, where he is in a serious condition, adding that the Mossos d’Esquadra have opened an investigation.
On August 15, the same outlet updated its story to indicate that three people had been arrested in connection with the incident, which it said had left Nasraoui with two stab wounds. A fourth person of interest, who was being sought by police, was later arrested. Sport saying.

Why was Lamine Yamal’s father attacked?
Initial reports suggested that an earlier altercation between Nasraoui and a small group of men may have sparked the alleged attack.
A video circulated on social media purporting to show Nasraoui arguing with several people on a residential street. The footage shows another man apparently pulling him away from the scene of the confrontation.
In a second video, police are seen arriving at the scene and two officers ordering him to leave. He then appears to try to explain to them that he had been physically assaulted in the altercation.
The Mossos have not yet commented publicly on the incident.
