Bellator returns to San Diego for its final Championship Series event on September 7. The PFL-owned promotion will see a competitive lightweight title fight and a couple of elimination bouts.

The main event will be Usman Nurmagomedov defending the Bellator lightweight title against Alexandr Shabliy.

UFC Hall of Famer Khabib Nurmagomedov’s cousin Usman (17-0, 1 NC) defeated Patricky Freire in 2022 for the Bellator lightweight title. A recent fight against Brent Primus was changed from a win to a no contest after Nurmagomedov was tested for a banned substance. Circumstances led to the test being invalidated.
Shabliy (24-3) has 12 wins by knockout and seven by submission. He defeated Tofiq Musayev and Freire at the Bellator lightweight grand prix to earn a shot at gold.
Raufeon Stots will face Marcos Breno in the co-main event. A two-time NCAA Division II wrestling championship gold medalist, Stots (20-2) is a former interim Bellator bantamweight champion. He is 1-1 in his last two fights. Breno (15-3) is 3-1 in his last four fights and has won eight fights by knockout.
Also on the card: Lorenz Larkin (26-8, 2 NC) in a welterweight title eliminator and the return of former Bellator welterweight champion Douglas Lima (33-11).
