Former first-round pick and cornerback Caleb Farley finally made his return to the field in the Tennessee Titans’ final preseason game against the New Orleans Saints Sunday and managed to make a notable play.
Farley had not played in the NFL since the 2022 campaign after missing the entire 2023 season. He also was unable to play in the first two preseason games due to injury.
And his return came at a good time, with the Titans set to trim their roster to 53 players by Tuesday and Farley on the roster. Farley had two tackles, but one was certainly more notable than the other.
On a third-quarter kickoff, Farley hit the returner with a massive hit that knocked his helmet off. Afterward, the Virginia Tech product was excited.

With everything Farley has been through, between injuries and personal tragedy lose his fatherTitans fans couldn’t have been happier to see this.
“Sometimes you don’t even get a chance to make plays like that,” Farley said of his game, according to Nick Suss of The Tennessean“When it happens like that, you feel like a little kid. A lot of joy and happiness, especially when you party with the guys and get patted on the head. There’s nothing like it.”

Now, we wait to see if Farley makes the 53-man roster. In our final prediction for the initial group, we had Farley among the six cornerbacks the Titans will keep, so we think he’ll get one more chance in Nashville.
“It’s easy. These next two days are easy,” Farley said of the upcoming roster cuts. “You can’t really control anything. I’m just glad I was able to come out here and have fun with my guys today. I’ve worked hard the last two weeks to get a chance to come out here and play. So I’m glad it worked out.”
If released by the Titans, Farley made it clear he intends to continue playing, saying he “still has a lot of fire in me,” which he showed when he made this play Sunday.
