The Las Vegas Raiders have officially wrapped up their 2024 preseason after tying the San Francisco 49ers on Friday 24-24, which led to a 0-2-1 mark in exhibition play for head coach Antonio Pierce’s team.
But as we know, the record doesn’t matter, because preseason is really about developing and evaluating players, while also serving as a way for players to prepare for the games that matter.
With the preseason over, NFL analysts began compiling lists of the most notable players from the exhibition program, and four Raiders players were recognized.
According to Jugo Mobile” Jacob Camenker, kicker AJ Cole, cornerback Jack Jones and wide receiver/returner Tyreik McAllister were selected to the All-Preseason team. Wide receiver Tre Tucker was an honorable mention.
This shouldn’t come as a surprise, but Cole hit some absolutely nuclear balls during the preseason, averaging 52.6 gross yards and 45.4 net yards per attempt.
Jones picked up where he left off last season and posted a 90.6 coverage grade and allowed a 59.6 passer rating, according to Focus on professional footballwhile recording an interception.
McAllister saved his best for last in Week 3 of the preseason, with the former CFL running back turned wide receiver hauling in two catches for 56 yards and a touchdown, and scoring on an electric 81-yard punt return.
Speaking of electricity: Tucker caught five balls for 139 yards, an average of 27.8 yards per reception. Three of those catches were for 30 yards or more, including two for 40-plus yards.
With Cole, Jones and Tucker all locked into the 53-man squad, McAllister will have to give his all. However, he is also competing for a spot in a wide-open position group behind the top four, so he has a good chance.
